'NO' VOTE NI SEN. RISA SA SMART KIDS BILL

Ipinaliwanag ni Sen. Risa Hontiveros ang kaniyang “no” vote sa pagpasa sa Senate Bill No. 2424 o panukalang Safe Media Access and Responsible Technology for Kids in Digital Spaces (SMART KIDS) Act.

Si Hontiveros ang nag-iisang senador na tumutol sa panukala na layong ipagbawal ang pagkakaroon at paggamit ng social media sa kabataang wala pang 18 anyos.

Ayon sa senadora, naniniwala siyang mas magiging epektibo kung magpapatupad ng tiered restrictions sa social media para sa kabataan imbes na tuluyan itong ipagbawal.

Kabilang dito ang pag-require ng mas malakas na default privacy at data settings, mas mahigpit na restrictions sa adult contact, paglimita sa targeted advertising at profiling, at mas pinalakas na parental at educational safeguards.
