Why do they lie?
Facts: Asha Sharma is an American citizen born in Wisconsin.
The 3,200 layoffs she announced affect Xbox's global workforce, not just Americans.
Additionally, Microsoft filed for roughly 2,900 H-1B applications company-wide in FY2026, not 5,000 for Xbox.
David Reich should provide the fine print that his "wisdom" is exclusively based on the qpAdm method - a stat tool with questionable empirical strength on anthropological matters.
And Dwarkesh should inform his listeners that the Indian regions with low Steppes ancestries (Reich's code for low castes) are the most industrialised, highest-HDI, high-PCI states of India.
@prempanicker With your infinite knowledge did you read the WRB that was passed into law in 2023 ? Coz that requires delimitation. Until that the reservation does not operationally apply.
I feel victimised and attribute it to my disbelief. Will I get the same airtime as Rehman if I was as famous as him? In fact, if anything he has "being a Muslim privilege." Yes the "muslim victimhood card" is a genuine advantage in international discourse. It is now a position of privilege.
What A. R. Rahman said about Chhaava reveals more about India’s cultural politics than about the film itself.
Rahman’s core claim isn’t that he’s banned or boycotted. It’s subtler: Bollywood’s power structure has changed, creativity has taken a backseat, and Chhaava felt “divisive” because it “cashed in on tensions” even while honouring bravery.
Here’s the problem.
Chhaava isn’t built on invention or provocation. Sambhaji vs Aurangzeb is not a contemporary political construct. It appears in Maratha bakhars, Persian court chronicles like the Maasir-i-Alamgiri, and later colonial historiography. This conflict was recorded by both sides of history. It predates modern India, electoral politics, and today’s culture wars.
Labeling such history “divisive” is not a neutral judgment it’s a political framing. It implies that remembering resistance is less legitimate than remembering devotion; that naming conquest is more dangerous than romanticising harmony.
Notice the asymmetry:
Indian history is welcomed when it is abstract, symbolic, or safely spiritual.
It becomes “problematic” only when it names power, violence, and Hindu resistance.
This reflex didn’t emerge organically. It was shaped post Independence by elite cultural gatekeeping that treated civilisational memory as combustible and silence as virtue. The result? Generations trained to believe that historical clarity equals communal trouble.
So when a film refuses to soften Sambhaji into metaphor or Aurangzeb into abstraction, the alarm goes off: divisive, polarising, dangerous.
That discomfort isn’t about religion.
It’s about memory …. unsanitised, unashamed memory.
A society that cannot distinguish between hatred and historical recall will keep mistaking truth for tension and forgetting for peace.
AR Rahman contradicts himself in his latest interview with BBC Asia. He says that there may be a communal angle to him not getting enough work nowadays in the Hindi Film Industry. However at the same time he says that the Director of the Blockbuster movie 'Chava' which was the 3rd highest grosser Hindi film of 2025, wanted only Rahman to compose the music for his film.
Rahman's commentary is very unfortunate and very sad. Celebrated for over 3 decades by India, he was amongst India's finest brand ambassadors abroad.
Here is a celebrity who is super famous, loved across communities and ideolgies, a man worth thousands of crores and then just when he is no longer that great at his work, as he was in his prime, which lasted for 3 decades, he makes a reference towards communalism.
This betrays the aspirations of millions of ordinary Indian Muslims and strengthens those problematic elements in the community, who preach the politics of victimhood.
Thinking it’s the patriotic aspect which is making #dhurandhar work is like thinking , it’s the empathy for Ramgarh villagers which made SHOLAY work .. The one and only reason why it’s working is because @AdityaDharFilms made a never before experienced fantastic , exciting and intriguing thriller entertainer 💪
Here are some unique lessons that all the so called film makers can learn from Dhurandhar
1.Unlike the other so called pan india big films , the film doesn’t even try to elevate the hero and give him the so called elevation moments to make the audience forcefully worship him with the use of slow motion and ear splitting background music . It actually lets his flaws and the related consequences coexist, thus making the audience tense instead of giving a clap trap applause.. it is incredible that @RanveerOfficial the star steps back to allow #akshayekhanna to fill the frame because that is the requirement of the story and is a testament to Ranveer’s understanding of cinema
2.Unlike how most films explain, Dhurandhar withholds. Long stretches of silence explode what pages of exposition cannot do in other films
3. It treats violence not as spectacle but as a psychological blow .. @aejazgulab does a fantastic job as the action director who doesn’t care about giving clap trap moments but he integrates the characters and their current state of minds into every ounce of it’s violence .. Gulab’s action in the film is the finest I saw in Indian cinema and I frankly can’t think of even a Hollywood film to beat it from the top of my mind .. There’s a lot to learn from Aejaz Gulab especially for the South Indian pan India action directors because every blow of his leaves an emotional residue, both moral and physical, long after the scene and the film is over
https://t.co/c197cEtnPU abandons the three act safety net.. The narrative moves like real life , uneven, impulsive, sometimes abrupt , rejecting neat rises and cathartic payoffs.
https://t.co/CdB6yhdCVk trusts the audience’s intelligence unapologetically
No spoon feeding, no emotional underlining. Meaning is discovered, not delivered.
https://t.co/Vgy6xlim3p makes the sound design a lead actor even in its background noise, breathing, distant chaos, the whole sound becomes a psychology in the film , and not just accompaniment.
https://t.co/SxPicZtYIh refuses genre loyalty because it mixes a blend of political thriller, character study, visceral action film and moral tragedy among many others thus shapeshifting the cinematic horizon
8. For the first time I experienced background music becoming foreground music , that doesn’t tell you when to feel heroic, scared, or relieved. The constant unease yet peppered with a emotional rollercoaster is the real soundtrack of the film achieved by the unimaginably talented @shaswatalogy
9. Dhurandhar treats cinema as confrontation and not consumption because it doesn’t want to just entertain you for three and half hours , but it’s real intention is to stay with you long after the film is over and maybe forever
Hey @AdityaDharFilms , A big thank you for making Indian cinema finally grow up and for giving all us film makers past , present and future too, to once again take baby steps holding your hand
DHURANDAR’s success is not being just another BLOCKBUSTER , it is a WARNING to the film industry to GROW UP
Sir… 🙏
If this tweet were a film, I would have gone to watch it first day first show, stood in the last row, and come out changed.
I came to Mumbai years ago carrying one suitcase, one dream, and an unreasonable belief that I would one day work under Ram Gopal Verma. That never happened. But somewhere along the way, without knowing it, I worked inside your cinema. Your films didn’t teach me how to make movies — they taught me how to think dangerously.
To have you say that Dhurandhar is a quantum leap feels surreal, emotional, and honestly a little unfair… because now whatever I do next has to live up to this tweet. 😄
You were one of my favourite directors who made Indian cinema feel fearless, impolite, and alive. If Dhurandhar has even a fraction of that DNA, it’s because your films whispered (sometimes screamed) in my head while I was writing and directing it.
If I’ve assumed the audience is intelligent, it’s because you taught an entire generation that cinema should never apologize for its ambition.
Thank you for this generosity, this madness, and this validation. The fan in me is overwhelmed. The filmmaker in me feels challenged.
And the boy who came to Mumbai to work under RGV… finally feels seen. 🎥🔥🙏
DHURANDHAR is not a film , it is a QUANTUM LEAP in INDIAN CINEMA
I believe that @AdityaDharFilms has completely and single handedly changed the future of Indian cinema , be it north or south ..That’s because Duradhar is not just a film.. it is a quantum leap
What Dhurandhar achieves is not just scale, but a never before experienced vision not just in sight but in the mind . Aditya Dhar doesn’t direct scenes here… he engineers the states of minds of both the characters and us audience
The film doesn’t ask for your attention.. it commands it. From the very first shot , there’s a sense that something irreversible has been set in motion, and the audience is no longer a spectator but an accomplice to the happenings on screen
This is a film that refuses to be polite. The writing cuts with intent, the staging breathes menace, and the silences are as weaponized as the thunderous sound effects . Dhar understands that power in storytelling is not volume… it’s pressure building . Every sequence feels compressed, like a spring being wound never knowing when it will snap . And when it does, the impact is not just brutal but it is also symphonically operatic
The Performances in the film aren’t designed to be liked but they’re designed to linger long after we leave the theatre .. Characters walk in carrying history on their shoulders, and the film trusts the audience enough to read their scars rather than spoon feed their backstories. This confidence which could be easily mistaken for arrogance is precisely what marks Dhurandhar as a turning point for Indian cinema . Dhar assumes that the audience are intelligent which is the highest respect a director can pay to an audience , whereas most film makers believe in dumbing down their films
Technically, the film redraws the grammar of mainstream Indian cinema. The sound design doesn’t decorate scenes, it stalks them. The camera doesn’t observe but it circles it like a predator. Action here isn’t choreography for applause.. it’s perspectively justified and extremely ugly , the way real violence should feel.
But beyond craft, what truly elevates Dhurandhar is its intent. This is not a film chasing trends or validation. It is a solemn declaration, that Indian cinema doesn’t need to dilute itself to become successful and doesn’t need to mindlessly copy Hollywood. Dhar proved that it can be rooted and still be internationally cinematic.
When the final credits roll, you don’t feel just entertained, you feel altered. And that’s the mark of a filmmaker who isn’t just making movies, but he is reshaping the very ground that all us film makers stand on.
I don’t always believe what I read in the media or on social media. But, if it’s half true that both Virat and Rohit are considering playing Test cricket again, then it needs to be taken very very seriously.
The survival of Test cricket is a hot topic of conversation and if the biggest stars in the game are wanting to play it again, they must play!
This is a delusional take that I see on a regular basis over here.
I am posting this just so people have a better understanding of Americans.
Overwhelming majority of MAGA voters in real life are okay with an Indian brown person as their leader as long as they are Christian.
Majority of them aren't obsessed white race purity the same way indian caste kangers are. We shouldn't assume otherwise.
Race purity whites are mostly an online phenomenon.
Majority of Normie conservatives just want "total submission to Christ"
Dinesh D'Souza, Nikky Haley, Bobby Jindal are real examples.
Usha Vance being a hindu is a bigger problem than her being a brown indian.
Now with all this being said,
JD Vance won't ever stand up for his wife. He won't ever become the president.
His political career will end in 2028.
MAGA movement will die and republicans will be profoundly divided and broken, leaving a void for democrats to takeover.
So María Corina Machado has won the Nobel Peace Prize. Not for ending a war, not for brokering peace, not even for changing a single tyrant’s mind — but for having the right enemies.
The committee calls it “a triumph of courage and democracy.” In truth, it’s a triumph of symbolism over substance. Venezuela remains crushed under Maduro’s boot, elections are still theatre, and people still queue for bread — but somewhere in Oslo, someone feels very virtuous.
This is the new Nobel logic: if you can’t make peace, at least look inspirational while failing to.
Obama got it for hope, Machado for endurance. Next year, perhaps someone will win it for good posture.
America was founded in 1776 by the Founding Fathers after declaring the 13 colonies independent from British rule. The first use of the term Judeo Christian was from a letter in 1821, a whole 45 years AFTER the founding of America. The Founding Fathers were not Jewish but were from Christian sects which is well documented. The term Judeo-Christian was applied during WW2 and was used as a unifying piece of propaganda for troops, nothing more. A simple yet very manipulative piece of verbiage utilised to bridge a gap between Christian beliefs and values and Jewish beliefs and values.

A bunch of proles who eat lunch at gas stations and would never be within ten miles of a tech company have decided that H-1B visas are why their lives are so bad and are now inventing conspiracy theories about them.
This is one line that I'll quote below is the Khalistani scam in a nutshell. Indians have been warning Westerners about this for ages. But there are so many people inside the system that the Khalistanis have compromised that it has reached epic proportions now. Keep committing crimes and then demand lighter sentences.
