In '22, HST + @museumhue + @laundromat_proj launched #HueArtsNYC. Our Digital Map and Directory captures critical info about the work + opportunities offered by 400+ POC arts entities citywide. Our follow-up Brown Paper outlines recommendations to close NYC's #culturalequitygap.
Building on this work in '23, HST and @museumhue launched the #HueArtsNYS Map and Directory + Brown Paper to catalog the POC-led arts entities working to shape our state's cultural fabric, and share action steps on how to ensure the longevity and sustainability of these orgs.
Guided by the vision of the HueArts initiative, our partners at @museumhue at @elpuentepalante discussed the importance of supporting artists and sustaining a vibrant #artsandculture ecosystem in New York.
Art is at the forefront of so many movements… we’re asking for what the arts contribute to the city, just like every other industry does.” Have you tuned in to our podcast with @NextCityOrg? Too often, NY's #artistsofcolor and POC-led cultural orgs are underfunded.

Over the last several months, @ChhayaCDC has been working with youth and local partners to activate and transform Lt. Frank McConnell Park for #RichmondHill community members, in celebration of the area’s rich Indo-Caribbean and Punjabi heritage.
To celebrate #AAPI and #IndianSurvivalMonth, @ChhayaCDC hosted their Spring Festival + Open Mic on Thurs, 5/23 at Lt. Frank McConnell Park. #RichmondHill residents came together for a night of storytelling, music, performances and community joy.
As we close out #AAPIHeritageMonth, we’re excited to spotlight another one of our Radical Imagination for Racial Justice (RIRJ) grantees working to advance racial and #environmentaljustice through the lens of arts and culture in Queens: @ChhayaCDC.
