@queerharkness When I first watched it I was amazed at the lore and the animation. I was surprised to see the amount of people that thought there should be no backstory. It adds more depth and world building, I loved it, idk why that’s an issue for people
@twinklorswift I think her themes are incredibly impactful. She stays true to her morals, even at the cost of losing everything. She’s peace in a chaotic world, but also lonely and craves loving and to be loved. Her character is just quieter than the others.
@KingOfTheBeez@julianmiflaco Not really. Yeah in ATLA they’re more fleshed out bc they were greenlit 3 seasons. But I find the Krew to be much more relatable
@moonnice597 How? He mutually broke up with Korra. That was him recognizing they’re not compatible, and he has a lot of emotional growing up to do before getting into a relationship
@squirrelfliight What do you expect from young adults who are trying to figure out their own paths after rough upbringings? If it weren’t for the love triangle there wouldn’t be Korrasami, and the love triangle has good themes surrounding growth, emotional maturity, and letting go
@Jessigirlmojang@BellmanBessa When Tenzin said to Korra about Wan, “he became a legend because of who he was, not what he was.” This gave Korra the courage to believe in her spirit as Korra, not just as the Avatar.
@etherealmemorie@julianmiflaco That’s what I really appreciate about the show. The characters are portrayed realistically when it comes to being a young adult who’s learning about life and forging their own identity through mistakes, relationships, and suffering
@Jessigirlmojang@BellmanBessa It’s bc of the Wan flashback that Korra was able to understand more of her identity involving who she is as a person outside of being the Avatar.
@julianmiflaco Ppl hating instead of analyzing what the love triangle is trying to tell us as an audience and the nuance it adds to the characters. These are young adults trying to understand their purpose, needs, and emotionality. They all grow from this by learning from mistakes
@sun_kissin@julianmiflaco Also Mako was treating her just like Tenzin and Tonraq was which is the opposite of what she wanted. She wanted him to believe she can make her own decisions, follow her own path but instead he suggested she just listen to Tenzin.
@sun_kissin@julianmiflaco I don’t think she was, Asami could actually think about what Korra needs instead of giving a convenient answer that’s part of why they work so much better
