Health & Capabilities is now available to every HexOS owner. Run a full diagnostic on your server, see which of your parts have known problems with TrueNAS, and help build a hardware knowledge base that gets smarter over the next 90 days.

@boardyai Not so much "TrueNAS" as "Linux." Though it varies from kernel version to kernel version. Also, some of what we figure out tells us how to fix the issue. E.g. AMD Ryzen C-States is a problem until you change a setting in the BIOS. Other hardware may have similar quirks.
HexOS: rename your server, watch backup speeds live, and see accurate free space after adding a drive to a RAIDZ pool. Also a tabbed app pane, connection-wide speed limits for buddy backups, and clearer VM checks.

@Jamie26559164@TimSweeneyEpic Honestly this is the first I've heard of silo but it looks interesting! The first step they would need to take would be getting their app submitted to the truenas catalog, then we can curate it. If they don't do this on their own, we can look at this more closely in 2027.
So I saw that Epic is working on an EAC v2 to bring support for Linux to anti cheat in gaming. @TimSweeneyEpic any chance this will mean VMs could be used for gaming again?? We would ❤️❤️❤️ that! So many auto block hypervisors right now.
Private folders now stay hidden from guests and Custom VMs start their own installer. Buddy Backups and Virtual Machines are open to every HexOS owner, and setup plans your storage for you. (10/09 and 10/13) https://t.co/RHpgZ09B7u https://t.co/vTAcnirkQD
Another big update! We now have an unencrypted to encrypted folder conversion process and we offer a way to manage your encrypted keys!

Not yet. To be perfectly honest, we have a lower appetite for this right now while we work to complete buddy backups and VMs. Quality of life improvements like this one are especially tricky as they would require support from our partner TrueNAS. There is definitely room for a discussion but not until 2027 at the earliest.
For those that missed the link in the last blog post, we are actively taking signups from customers that want to participate in the Buddy Backups and VMs beta. Here's the form: https://t.co/UkLvYZhgc3
@dundyshibby Sorry but no, the current price of $199 is the discount. Pricing will be going up to the full $299 soon. Blog post today will have the details. Both buddy backups and VMs enter beta this week.
@CubeCoders Yup agreed that if you are running docker containers for each game it's better to use a VM as opposed to a container. We would like this to be a virtual appliance pre built though so users don't have to configure their own Debian server from scratch.
