hey i wrote about the intersection of gay culture and gym culture and how lockdown presents a perfect opportunity for us to 'neautralise the body' https://t.co/sEwlhp6lM7 via @GuardianAus
overheard a guy trying to convince his girlfriend to get a protein bar instead of the croissant she wanted and she said, verbatim, “just because you don’t like joy, josh, doesn’t mean i want to be miserable too.”
truly believe anti marketing will become a thing soon… still marketing but it’s just a different approach, more intimate, personal, private, one on one. less about the projection of scale. i’m into it xx
I’m going to be so vulnerable right now but I’m deeply jealous of Andy cohen. Super hot (Just admit it come on live a little), best gay guy Job on the planet? Millions of dollars a year to interview reality tv stars. Endless access to twinks, gets to go to every party, like come on which gay guy has it even remotely better. And don’t say Anderson cooper he has to pretend to care about “the news”
In 1998, Madonna’s ‘Ray of Light’ broke the record for biggest debut sales week by a female artist in the U.S. (SoundScan Era). The album sold 371K copies.
@JolinaJasmine all the women I've brought to the gay club were either gay or bi, or ended up identifying as gay or bi later in life. maybe it's better if we problematize behaviours, not identities.
If you are born into a family with financial security l actually think dedicating your life to actively trying to help people is probably the best you could do.
@dphdphdph7 my POV is that gay men (all men) would do well to pick up the analytic tools left by feminists and interrogate the body politic. my POV is that perhaps it's dangerous to construct our identities and relationships around our proximity to desire
what i think some of you need to wake up to is that inside every muscle gay is a much smaller man who was very insecure about his body and so invested in ideas of status and desirability that he went through pretty intense methods of body modification to achieve this exclusivity
@dphdphdph7 fitness is great! but it's also an industry that preys and profits on anxieties, particularly re masculinity. plenty of harmful practice (incl problem eating) is rendered invisible in the name of health and fitness (particularly in boys and men)
