The use of substances, special dietary supplements or other artificial means to gain an advantage over the opponent is as old as competitive sport itself...DOPING

📍ANTI DOPING are measures in form of rules, tests, list of banned substances, put in place to checkmate DOPING.

~ Since there were no effective testing procedures put in place, the abuse of performance-enhancing substances continued unchecked.

The situation was further aggravated when synthetic pharmaceutical drugs - such as hormones and stimulants - were made available to the open market. This led to the deaths of several elite cyclists which resulted in anti-doping becoming an important item on the agenda of sporting bodies.

📍 FIFA was the first international federation to introduce doping controls (during the 1966 FIFA World Cup in England).

🔵 FIFA has a worldwide network of trained doping control officers who are all physicians.

🔵 Physicians engaging in anti-doping activities are bound by their "HIPPOCRATIC OATH" and are required to understand and practice confidentiality, offer professional advice and good evidence-based medicine.

The care of athletes can be both demanding and complex.

New treatment protocols for recovery and rehabilitation are continually being promoted as well as other (often) questionable methods to gain competitive advantage through enhancement of performance.

Physicians must maintain their professional responsibilities and need to confine themselves within the boundaries of good medical practice and be mindful of the WADA Prohibited list.... MIKHAILO MUDRYK, PAUL POGBA situations...!

Extreme caution needs to be exercised in the use or abuse of supplements, traditional or alternative therapies.

🔵 The player has a strict liability on which substances are getting detected in his/her body.

🔵 It is therefore on the player to check whether a specific medication or method that is being administered to him/her is on the WADA Prohibited List. A lack of knowledge is not an acceptable excuse. MIKHAILO MUDRYK DILEMMA...

Also, a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) does not work as a “back door” way to cheat or circumvent the rules and regulations for the administration of prohibited substances.... 👉 (to be discussed separately in another post)

International sports federations which are signatories to the World Anti-Doping Code (WADC) are obliged to incorporate the anti-doping rules into their respective statutes and regulations to be compliant.

The WADC is accompanied by further regulatory framework with WADA’s eight (8) International Standards (IS) which deal with specific anti-doping matters:

1. IS for Testing and Investigation (ISTI)

2. IS for Results Management (ISRM)

3. IS for Education (ISE)

4. IS for Laboratories (ISL)

5. IS for Therapeutic Use Exemptions (ISTUE)

6. IS for Protection of Privacy and Personal Information (ISPPPI)

shoulder dystocia

about 50% of labour which have shoulder dystocia (shoulder of the baby being stuck at the vagina) are babies which are of normal size.

that said,

In shoulder dystocia, the shoulder of the baby is stock during delivery after the head has come out.

This is called Shoulder dystocia. This could be a frightening situation for a young midwife or doctor. Baby must be delivered within 5 minutes!... do not pull the head!

Sadly, some babies succumb and do not make it or some survive but with some great damages already done.

Good selection of women to try vaginal delivery is essential.

Pls, when your doctor advises you guys to do C/S, let no Pastor or relative be a weapon fashioned against you!

It is advisable not to take glucose infusion you can also be confused like this chronic alcoholic patient.

If your doctor isn't listening to you... go to another hospital...

You have a right to tell him... if vomiting is severe... you may need Thiamine(Vitamin) in your infusion or tabs...

It may even affect how you walk.
