@TheKingCenter CSK
She be free
Like a song bird
Like African diving into ocean grave
Like woman who already knows the end of the story.
She rolls man up mountain like boulder
She be free like Mahalia
Singing “Amazing Grace”
Like rain drops escaping clouds
Free like woman whose journey is done

@hooperstarium @hollyrpeete Love that intro for “I’m Coming Out.” Thanks for that knowledge.

So Gainesville Middle School is okay with white students being racist towards Black students. FAFO! Let’s make this piece of ish school go viral.

@BerniceKing Happy Birthday Ms. Wright-Edelman. You were my Commencement speaker at Duke University in 1992. I’ve followed and admired you ever since. Thank you.

A doctor has been serving one of Baltimore’s poorest neighborhoods for decades — and if his patients can’t pay, that’s OK with him.

So when he was diagnosed with cancer, his community rallied to raise $100,000 for his treatments.

Donald Trump's attempt to flood the zone is not a sign of strength – it’s an attempt to project strength, and to convince you that he’s more powerful than he is.

Don’t let him.

Stand up, speak out, and remember that democracy depends on those who refuse to be silenced.

[Be A King @BerniceKing]

Thank you for your apology, which I sincerely accept. Please know that it was not my intention that you be denigrated. I value you as a human being.

I hope you understand my concerns about the image. I know that my father has become a bit of a caricature to the world and that his image is often used with no regard to his family, his sacrificial work, or to the tragic, unjust way in which he died (a state-sanctioned assassination).

Unfortunately, I regularly challenge the disregard.

I earnestly wish that people would imagine what it would feel like to see their deceased, murdered father repurposed for party fliers, unjust legislation, etc.

All the best to you, young lady.

We (MDs) are out here reading and writing. We use poetry to teach our students. We encourage humanism in medicine. Check out the @HumanDoctoring —a great example!

I just proudly cast my ballot with my daughter, Alex.

In her first election, Alex got to vote for her mom for Senate, and for Kamala Harris to be our next President.

I knew this #WinWithBlackMen call would be special when @jamalhbryant started with prayer and recited the first stanza of Be Strong.

Let me tell you: these brothers understand the assignment and are ready.

Need some inspiration for the fight ahead? Read this and let’s go!👇🏾

Be strong!
We are not here to play, to dream, to drift;
We have hard work to do, and loads to lift;
Shun not the struggle—face it; ’tis God’s gift.

Be strong!
Say not, “The days are evil. Who’s to blame?”
And fold the hands and acquiesce—oh shame!
Stand up, speak out, and bravely, in God’s name.

Be strong!
It matters not how deep intrenched the wrong.
How hard the battle goes, the day how long;
Faint not—fight on! To-morrow comes the song.
