Honouring and remembering all those we have lost due to systemic violence of poverty, colonization and homelessness. Tuesday Dec 20, 2 PM Saint Patrick's Church. #halifax
Even while we celebrate The Sunflower and safe secure housing, we're hearing from families with absolutely nowhere to go. We continue to give out tents and sleeping bags. If you have camping gear you're not using, pls consider donating. This is our #housingcrisis@TimHoustonNS
Thank you to all the organizations and people in our community who are involved in supporting our efforts. Including (but not limited to) The Ally Center, DULF, CAPUD, INPUD, SUNAR, PASAN, and NASCOP. #EndTheStigma#Decriminalization#CAPED
ICYMI Ally Centre of Cape Breton needs tents donated, already given out 50+ to folks experiencing homelessness with no safe place to go. Christine Porter says some ppl choose to go camping, but this isn't choice. Cold weather is coming, there are no places to go, no #housing.
If we could begin to see much illness itself not as a cruel twist of fate or some nefarious mystery but rather an expected and therefore normal consequence of abnormal, unnatural circumstances it would have revolutionary implications for how we approach everything health-related.
Join us online next Thursday.
We will be discussing what a right to housing means & how you can get involved by making a submission to the Housing Commission's public consultation.

SHYM (Supportive Housing for Young Mothers) is in need of two strollers, preferably with storage underneath and cup holders if possible!
If you are able to donate a stroller (or two!) to SHYM, please reach out to Shelly Ann at [email protected]
Thank you 🙂💙
May 2nd Mainline will celebrate its 30th year, feeling so thankful and grateful to celebrate in our new space…. Come and help us celebrate this amazing milestone ❤️
A little sunshine for your rainy morning, having spent the 1st day of spring at The Sunflower. Cheery yellow doors will open into HOMES for folks struggling thru this housing crisis. Blue skies, all 5 buildings up. It was a wonderful hope-filled day.

Here's one way to fill the tank, to stop by our construction site and see work in progress. The last of The Sunflower's 5 buildings is now going up. Halifax, we have never needed this more, affordable accessible sustainable housing. 🌻 #rapidhousinginitiative
The language used here: “safe” “nice” “peaceful” is meant to imply unhoused people are not safe, that they are not nice, that they are not peaceful. Our experience with unhoused people tells a different story. Pay attention to language and you’ll understand bias.#Hfx#community
