@pandionfan2@rahhead01 Inclined to agree. She’s great and I’ve enjoyed their partnership and the fun very much. But I don’t think she would be the ideal presenter for this show - too risky she’d hog the limelight. I can imagine she’d make a fabulous host (or competitor) on game shows though.
Beware! It is incredibly difficult to cancel a subscription to @ancestry . Their Bot takes you round in circles. Phone number it gives to speak to human does not exist. Link given leads to a blank page. I’ve had to resort to cancelling my bank card to stop them taking payments!
Ex-bishop admits sexually abusing boy - Anthony Pierce, who was bishop between 1999 and 2008, appeared in Swansea Crown Court. via @BBC https://t.co/CA8g9Oarrp
⚠️ WARNING: This post contains descriptions of sexual abuse
Anthony Pierce, 84, former Bishop of Swansea & Brecon, has pleaded guilty to five charges of indecent assault on a boy under 16. The offenses occurred between 1985 & 1990 when Pierce was Parish Priest in West Cross, Swansea
📣Admitted to 5 charges of indecent assault, but what's the real number? I would presume, guess, in the 100s or 1000s
The victim, now middle-aged, reported the abuse to the Church in Wales in 2023. Pierce was released on bail & will be sentenced next month at Swansea Crown Court
The Church in Wales apologized to the victim & stated Pierce could be stripped of Holy Orders by a disciplinary tribunal. They expressed "profound shame" that a priest committed such "shocking crimes."
📣Could? The scumbag has admitted guilt. The Church is a shambles if it's not able to immediately take action when faced with such evidence and in this case an admission
An independent external review has been commissioned into the Church's handling of a separate allegation against Pierce from 1993, which was not reported to police until 2010
📣This aspect should be investigated, and publicised. I grew up Christian myself so I don't wish to bash the religion, however the organisation of the Church is a disagrace to the public it serves
Pierce, who lives in Brecon, is due to be sentenced on March 7
📣I guarantee he gets a slap on the wrist. Oh these things happen and it was so long ago. Nope, not good enough. He's a scumbag and should be jailed for decades. It won't happen though
🙏Please share to spread awareness

@MailOnline “Anthony Pierce, who was bishop of Swansea and Brecon between 1999 and 2008, appeared at Swansea Crown Court on Friday.”
This is the time period that the Welsh government and authorities were full of protected child abusers. One was an even in a child protection role.
@L8in Did Anthony Pierce’s sexual abuse of children just magically stop when he became bishop? Because that would be a miracle! Police & @ChurchinWales need to investigate his whole time in office at @BreconCathedral when he had the power to abuse and to cover up abuse by others.
Transparency is not something you should associate with @ChurchinWales Nowhere in their feed is there coverage of Anthony Pierce, former bishop at @BreconCathedral , who has pleaded guilty to sexual assault of a child. https://t.co/64w8YFyBAk
@ChurchinWales So how come you did not report these allegations until after Anthony Pierce retired as bishop?
You need to investigate this abusers time in position of power & trust. What else did he do or cover up for others?
https://t.co/64w8YFyBAk
@Masparrow Yes - which they did not report to police till 2010 - 2 years after he retired as bishop! There needs to be a full investigation into him throughout his career. In his position of huge power and trust what else did he do or cover up for others?
@GHRSouthWales The church was aware of a “further” allegation in 1993 but didn’t report it till 2010” - two years after the bishop retired. A full investigation into this man’s time in position of trust and power is now required. Were there further crimes he committed or covered up for others.
The Church-in-Wales says it is "determined" to demonstrate it's safe, after a former Bishop of Swansea and Brecon pleaded guilty

@EvansTheCrime Please dig deeper into this. He did not stop when he became a bishop, when his power and influence increased.
He was able to carry on abusing and cover up abuse by others too.
