EU: Lowest use of air conditioning
Highest rate of heat deaths
With US-level AC, it could save about 26,000 lives a year
Europe is rich and has, by latitude, fewer hot days than most inhabited regions
Its aversion to air conditioning is entirely because of an energy-degrowth ideology

I hear all the time about how Gen Z is turning socialist because they have no economic hope and how I just don’t understand that we need to do more socialist stuff so they’ll still vote for us.
Well….
I’ve spent quite a bit of time as a Silicon Valley startup/VC lawyer, and there is no quicker way to turn a young leftist into a junior Milton Friedman than starting their own business.
I saw it over and over and over—smart twenty somethings with coding skills, blue hair and a Che Guevara poster gradually becoming more and more conservative as they slowly comprehend just how many regulatory hurdles there are to running a business and raising capital (and the amount of money they had to pay me to help do that navigation).
We should all be encouraging young people to start their own businesses. They don’t need to be some novel tech business that attracts VC funding either. Every community has service and product needs just itching to be filled by someone with a little energy and smarts.
The way out of Gen Z’s economic malaise is not going back to school to get a master’s because you can’t get a job you think is good enough for you.
No, the cure is entrepreneurship.
Us olds should be pointing the youngs in that direction. We’ll grow a new generation of conservatives, and OBTW the best route to true wealth is to own your own business and not work for somebody else.
This stupid communist takes a couple pieces of furniture to Goodwill and acts like she just gentrified Skid Row.
Commie, there are naked drug zombies lighting dogs on fire and stabbing people in the face. Do your damn job.
Mitch McConnell is the first Senate Majority Leader to use pro forma sessions to block the recess appointments of his own party’s President.
President Trump.
A President with 92%-97% approval by that party’s voters.
McConnell is a traitor to Republican voters.
If you don't already know what critical theory is, I recommend you do some independent research and figure it out.
Because, right now, literally every manmade problem in the USA is a function of critical theory.
Defeating critical theory is the most important task for American survival.

Gavin Newsom's CA State Park employees destroyed the Palisades & Malibu, they mocked residents in leaked texts as their homes were burning. Now, on Independence Day 250, they're hanging the American flag upside down, in full view of the burned out Malibu lots. Unreal.
🚨#BREAKING: A 28-year-old confirms he has spent the last 10 YEARS of his life interviewing World War II combat veterans to keep their stories alive...
...in fact, for the last 10 years, he has interviewed World War 2 veterans EVERY SINGLE DAY
He started as a teenager, ditching school to ride his BIKE to the local retirement home, walking up to the front desk and asking to, "meet some World War II heroes."
His name is Rishi Sharma.
He's crossed all 50 states and half the world.
He's slept in his car and lived on gas-station food to afford it.
He asks these men for hours of their memories, and then he hands the entire recording to their families...
...FOR FREE
So that 200 years from now, a great-great-grandchild will know not just their hero's name, but how he laughed, how he cried, and what he sacrificed.
Rishi has no military family, his parents immigrated here from India.
He does it out of pure gratitude.
In his words:
"My parents were given the opportunity to immigrate and raise a family because of veterans like these. It's a debt of love I'll spend my entire life trying to repay..."
As one 100-year-old Marine who stormed Iwo Jima told him, remembering the flag going up:
"The hair on my arms still stands up when I think about how beautiful it was."
THAT is America.
250 years of ordinary people doing extraordinary things...
God bless our veterans. 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Every July 4th, I watch Mike Rowe’s short video about the signers of the Declaration. Many of them are barely remembered today.
These were not desperate radicals with nothing to lose.
They were the 1%ers of 1776, wealthy, educated, and wildly successful men with everything to lose.
Yet they bet it all: generational fortunes, family safety, and their own lives. They signed what was essentially a death warrant, pledging their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor for a country that didn’t even exist yet.
And every year I ask myself the same question:
How many of today’s billionaire class would do the same?
Probably only a handful.
