@fwdaniels No. The idea is that everyone is too preoccupied worrying about the impression they are making, so nobody notices the weird things others do, effectively making everyone an invisible guest. I’m saying I don’t care about what kind of impression I’m leaving. So I will notice you.
And don’t even get me started on the blue check users of twitter. I can’t think of a more pathetic existence. I’m not angry at those people. I just feel genuinely bad for them.
The thing that’s probably bothered me the most about twitter over the years is just how deeply unfunny everyone is. And I don’t mean in terms of offensive jokes or whatever. I mean in terms of originality, creativity, and form. Everybody makes the same lazy jokes on this thing.
The worst is when a lazy joke really pops off and my then my feed becomes flooded with tons of people making the same unfunny joke (maybe with a slight alteration) just to hopefully cash in on the likes train. And you sheep eat it right up. It honestly makes me sick.
This app stopped being fun a long time ago. And no one else ever had tweets as good as mine. I still have a few days left to post some more good. But it feels good to know the end is near. Fuck you twitter. I’ve still never been wrong about anything once in my life.
I’ve been tweeting for half my life. If I tweet any more it will be for most of my life. In light of this realization I will be retiring from twitter at the end of year for good. This app has become an absolute cesspool, and it’s something I no longer wish to be apart of.
I will not delete the app because I never updated the app once Elon took over so I still have OG Twitter and that feels like history. And I won’t delete my account either, in case I decide to run for office one day and my enemies need to dig up some dirt on me.
I look forward to knowing less about the absolutely vile, idiotic, and cruel opinions held by the many weak minded individuals who occupy this dark corner of the internet. I can’t wait to live exclusively in the real world.
