What TN has shown today, rest of India has been doing for decades. Hindu majority states of Rajasthan, Bihar, Assam, Maharashtra and even Manipur have had Muslim Chief Ministers. Hindu majority Andhra Pradesh, Goa and Kerala have given many Christian Chief ministers. TN is just a new entry to that old club.
But the real question worth probing is: how many Muslim majority or Christian majority states have given any Hindu Chief Minister? Zero.
Forget Chief Minister, how many Hindu MPs or MLAs have ever been elected from a Muslim majority or Christian majority lok sabha or vidhan sabha seats?? Next to Zero.
An angry lady’s image shouting at a political leader and his party for having stopped the road has gone viral.
That one woman has said what millions of us feel. Stop blocking roads for your political agendas. Stop blocking roads, temples, for VIPs.
People have work, emergencies, lives. This entitlement has gone too far.
Today, India takes a defining step in its civil nuclear journey, advancing the second stage of its nuclear programme.
The indigenously designed and built Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor at Kalpakkam has attained criticality.
This advanced reactor, capable of producing more fuel than it consumes, reflects the depth of our scientific capability and the strength of our engineering enterprise. It is a decisive step towards harnessing our vast thorium reserves in the third stage of the programme.
A proud moment for India. Congratulations to our scientists and engineers.
Given that oil price is the biggest impact India and many other countries are facing today because of the war, a coordinated effort to reduce fuel usage may help reduce major impact. During COVID the world went into a complete shut down and oil prices had dropped to below $20 and futures had crashed to -$37 in April 2020. Maybe we can introduce partial work from home and keep industrial activities open, and I am sure this itself (if done globally) will help correct oil prices significantly. For India will help our trade deficit as well as lower pressure on our currency in addition to lowering input costs for many industries thereby reducing impact on profitability. COVID helped us develop and test technologies and platforms that made work from home easy and this may be a very good time to use them until war uncertainties remain. @narendramodi@nitin_gadkari@nsitharaman
In Parliament today I proposed optional Joint filing of Income Tax Returns for married couples.
Family A
Both spouses earn ₹10 lakh each.
Total household income is ₹20 lakh.
Tax: zero
Family B
One spouse earns ₹20 lakh. The other stays home to raise their child.
Total household income is ₹20 lakh.
Tax: ₹1.92 lakh
The only difference is how the salary is split between the two spouses.
One roof. One kitchen. One household budget. But when tax time comes, the family disappears.
The tax system sees two individuals. A husband and wife become strangers. No clubbing of income or rebates.
In Parliament today I proposed optional joint filing of Income Tax Returns for married couples, so families with uneven incomes are not unfairly penalised. If implemented, then Family A and Family B both will pay Zero Tax.

🚨BREAKING: India's Reliance just locked a 20-year oil deal with the US.
1.2 BILLION barrels.
$125 BILLION in crude.
$175 BILLION in refined products.
$300 BILLION total deal.
Trump called it the BIGGEST DEAL IN US HISTORY.
And for India, this changes everything.
Here's why Ambani made this bet now
Many analysts who say "Trump made a miscalculation on the war", "this war is going to prolong" etc, are missing the whole point of this war:
This middle east war is not just about decimating Iran's nuclear & missile program, weakening Iran and trying to regime change, it is also more importantly about weakening China.
This war can be kept on if needed by the US and ended only if China agrees to resume rare earth exports and agrees to trade deal terms US sets before Trump's proposed April visit to Beijing.
I believe China will succumb and agree to a backroom deal. There's no other option for China if this war is prolonged by the US by letting Iran keep fighting.
Why?
Simple - China's economy is reliant on its dumping of goods to Europe. It can't go through Panama canal if US decides so now after taking control. The cost of shipping through middle east and Suez is already high.
China may also have a energy crunch if Russia (due to a deal with the US) sells oil to India & EU as China's VZ and Iran oil is already taken out by the US and middle east oil is becoming too difficult to obtain.
The more time this war prolongs, the more China's economy will be weakened. Trump will also delay his visit citing the war and trade deal will also not be signed by him, affecting China's exports to the US.
Most analysts and reporters aren't getting this because they are reading China influenced DS media telling them that China is winning every which way.
Please understand this middle east escalation is part of a larger game to checkmate China 👇
As Israel, UAE, Kuwait, and Bahrain count the losses caused by Iranian missiles and drones, India thanks Dr Ramarao for building the indigenous Akash that tracked 616 Pak missiles and drones (64 simultaneously) before launching interceptors, logging a neutralisation rate of 99.4%
When Central Government granted Classical Language status to Kannada, it was challenged in court by Tamil Nadu lawyer.
When Karnataka presented 4th-century Talakadu Ganga inscriptions as evidence, Supreme Court dismissed the plea & upheld the status. ✨
If you truly believe the “upper caste” enjoys reservation, then prove it. Drop your caste certificate, declare yourself General Category. Stand in the same line & face the same cut-offs, compete with zero protection, zero concessions, zero cushions.
You won’t because you know the truth.
The “upper caste enjoying benefits of reservation” you talk about exists only in slogans, not in law, not in policy, not in admissions.
I've said this before. Saying it again. If BJP comes to power at centre in 2029, Devendra Fadnavis has better chances of becoming Prime Minister than Yogi or Himanta Biswa Sarma.
