Never seen this before:
Nikko Mikkola had a game misconduct. I'm not sure if no one told him or what...but after it was called, he continued to play and assisted on Florida's 8-0 goal.
Minutes later, that one was removed from the scoreboard and it is back to 7-0.
Another big deal: the Ducks are making Jackson LaCombe the highest-paid player in franchise history. An 8x$9M AAV extension for the talented young defenceman.
Ryan Getzlaf, Paul Kariya and Corey Perry had higher AAVs, but this is the most in total dollars.
Luke Hughes, signed 7x$9M by NJ, is a developing puck-moving D with skill that hasn't quite translated to on-ice results yet. He might be the fastest D in the league, carries the puck a lot, great passer. Active in the D zone but a bit turnover prone and leaky off the rush.
I can definitely see Labanc still earning a contract somewhere around the league based on how he performed on his PTO with Carolina, there’s just no room on that roster for him
Going to know more in the next 24-48 hours, but Panthers are bracing for the possibility their captain, Aleksander Barkov, could be lost for the season.
Would be brutal, no one wants to see that…but, unfortunately, was a bad injury.
This upcoming season will be the final one for the New Jersey Devils "Jersey Jerseys." Debuted in 2021, the alternates were worn for a total of five seasons, but the team announced they'll no longer use them after 2025-26 🖤♥️

Based on my conversations with players at NHL Media Tour this week, there's one unifying belief they share about the Stanley Cup Playoffs format:
They want to go back to 1-through-8 instead of the wild card.
“I feel like all the players want back to 1-to-8," said Cale Makar.
