Following a detailed investigation, ESIC has issued a lifetime ban to StarCraft II player Xue “Firefly” Tao for 21 breaches of the ESIC Integrity Program relating to match-fixing and betting-related corruption.

Between April–August 2024, Firefly conspired with former pro Gao “Jim” Mengwei in a deliberate scheme involving:
• Pre-match bets against Firefly
• Precise match manipulation
• Financial kickbacks via Alipay
• Explicit WeChat exchanges confirming misconduct

Jim is provisionally suspended pending further sanction.
