@shawnlunn2002 I don't know what the hell does exactly. I'd have to think about what makes franchises like Fast and Furious work; or maybe even that's dated now. At 41, I'm basically a dinosaur.
@felisa_elisa@CapitanColombia Yeah the Leto thing is weird. It would be one thing if they hired him, basically conveying "we DGAF", but instead they hire him, and then hide him.
In my new video I share my thoughts on the new Masters of the Universe movie, compare He-Man to Highlander as eighties franchises, and explain why the Highlander reboot will be a superior effort! Link below!

@felisa_elisa@CapitanColombia And who knows He-Man may still bounce back. I mean the first Highlander flopped commercially and critically, only enduring due to its popularity on VHS. I don't know if there's really an equivalent salvation now. Digital sales maybe.
@felisa_elisa@CapitanColombia It's too much money for sure. But as for Highlander, we Highlander fans have been cursed for forty years; we deserve a break, so I BELIEVE the reboot will destroy all records and make Titanic look like a decent financial success.
@felisa_elisa@CapitanColombia Oh you're a He-Man fan? Wasn't sure of you're angle. Who knows, as Red Letter Media jokes, maybe Jeff Bezos is actually a die hard He-Man fan and will keep investing in the franchise regardless haha.
@CapitanColombia@felisa_elisa Nah not eighties kids, but He-Man fans specifically. Like I used to LOVE He-Man as a kid, but as I said I just grew out of it, since with the likes of Conan and Highlander, He-Man just seemed redundant. We Highlander fans are niche, but I honestly NEVER saw He-Man fans anywhere.
"The future is not set; there is no fate but what we make."
All we have to do is make an unbreakable pact that each of us will see the Highlander reboot one hundred times each in the cinema, just in case.
If you're reading these words, you ARE the resistance (and in the pact).
@felisa_elisa Yeah I sympathise with He-Man fans right now, though in all seriousness I wasn't aware they still existed as such. Highlander will not suffer this fate. We WILL get fifty sequels and a new TV series.
@felisa_elisa Yeah, Highlander has a budget of $180 million, and Masters had a $180-$200 million. Quite honestly, even as a Highlander fans I've no idea why they were willing to invest that much in it, since even the original didn't perform well. To invest that much in Masters is mental.
@felisa_elisa Amazon, same as Masters, which is one of their commonality, as well as their eighties origins, budget, etc. I think if Masters had been released and performed poorly sooner, it may have made Amazon think twice about putting the same budget in Highlander. Too late now thankfully!
@StebobM@DaveBautista I'd say before the end of the year. Not a final trailer, but definitely material crafted to be like one, like what they showed at CinemaCon.
To celebrate Highlander Lore gaining over ten thousand subscribers, I made a video celebrating the legendary Kurgan! I analyse the character as he exists in classic Highlander as portrayed by Clancy Brown, and explain why I think @DaveBautista's take will be awesome! Link below!
My new video is online! I cover @russellcrowe getting righteous as Ramirez and setting boundaries, Henry Cavill's shooting in Poland, as well as his interactions with Polish Witcher, Warhammer 40K, and Superman fans! Link below!
