Bill Lucas became the first Black General Manager in AL/NL history with the Braves in 1976.
Lucas was the highest ranking Black official in MLB when he passed away suddenly in 1979 at age 43.
He gave future Hall of Famer Bobby Cox his first managerial position and helped build the nucleus of Atlantaβs 1982 NL West championship team.
Lucas was inducted into the Braves Hall of Fame in 2006. The Bill Lucas Fellowship was established by the Braves to increase the number of diverse candidates looking for careers in Baseball Operations. #BlackHistoryMonth

@JonCraw8008@TysBurnerAcc @DoneWithSports @roddystr@cheetah@WokeeJa Sorry my boy when they rework the contract this article didn't mention his signing bonus after restructure. The same way we did in Suh each year. That's not taking a pay cut when you're getting money off the contract on a signing bonus.
@JonCraw8008@TysBurnerAcc @DoneWithSports @roddystr@cheetah@WokeeJa Dude Jordan didn't take no pay cuts, don't believe Brady did either. Jordan people with shrewd about that money ever since. Gambling and everything else had to be paid
@JonCraw8008@TysBurnerAcc @DoneWithSports @roddystr@cheetah@WokeeJa Ever athlete was named in that place got paid. You don't play this game just for a ring. You play this game for your family. I want to care if my son ever got a ring, as long as he didn't feed greedy owners.
