Healthcare’s a damn scam. CT scan in South GA: $5,987 standard, but only $2,993 cash! Aetna’s ‘in-network’ deal? $5,029—still a ripoff. Go outside the hospital for $361! ‘In-network’ savings are a lie. Pay cash, skip the racket. #HealthcareIsCorrupt
@JandD2009@MaryBowdenMD If it’s a non-profit hospital grout just google the name of the hospital form 990. Look at schedule J. That’s where all the compensation schedules are.
@realDonaldTrump Looking forward to it. In the meantime, for the love of this Country, please get rid of @AGPamBondi I had high hopes for her but she has proven to be useless.
@jasoncook55 I opted out years ago. Find you a good direct primary care physician. Pay a monthly fee and have 24/7 access. Mine is worth his weight in gold.
That’s because the side effects will create more patients. Diet and exercise worked for me. Doctor said “you’re diabetic but you’re smart enough to fix this yourself. I’m not going to give you any medication.” 8 months and 50 pounds later A1C was 5.7. All those drugs are lifelong drugs with proven side effects.
@DrSeanWheeler That is the American healthcare system. I just helped a girl today that got a bill for $27K from a doctor that did nothing but put a cast on her son’s arm. He also billed her $75 for the supplies and a $656 office visit.
"When physicians join insurance networks, including Medicare, they are bound by the terms of the payer’s contract. These agreements typically require providers to submit claims for any covered services provided to insured patients.
If a practice accepts cash for a service that is covered by insurance, it may violate the contract terms. Regardless of the patient’s preference to pay out of pocket, the provider must submit the claim to the insurer. Failure to comply can result in penalties, including the potential termination of the provider’s contract with the insurance company." -- Doctors Management
Plain English - it doesn't matter if the cash pay amount is lower, as it often is, if you use your insurance, your provider is obligated to bill your insurance and YOU are left paying the higher charges if your claim is denied.
Healthcare is not broken - it is running like the well oiled machine it was built to be. Managed care was the start, ACA was the death blow -- and Congress - it's the gift that just keeps on giving... to the healthcare industry.
I don't have a problem with access because I use a direct primary care (DPC) physician.
I don't have to worry about paying $3000 out of pocket for an MRI because I know where to get them (anywhere in the Country) for $300-$800.
I don't have to ask an insurance company if I can have an MRI - I just pay for it.
PPO does not stand for Preferred Provider Organization - it stands for Piss Poor Options. I can't help but wonder if I had known 10 years ago what I know now if my brother would still be alive... if I could have saved him.
Depends on if the urgent care is owned by a hospital and what they bill for... visit, stitches, surgical tray, local anesthetic, etc. Plus there's the wait time among people that may have the flu or other illnesses. My way is direct to the doctor, no waiting, no surprises when I check out.
Independent doctors are vanishing.
Not because they failed—but because hospitals paid millions to eliminate their competition.
This isn’t healthcare. It’s hostile takeover in scrubs.
No. You can’t demonize people because of their religious affiliations. That’s the kind of bullshit democrats do. I have a few friends that are Muslim. They are good people and one served in the U.S. military and they all voted for Trump. I’d agree to deporting the Muslims in Congress that truly hate our Country but the few Muslims I know are proud Americans
