@dankrad@dankrad, I’m concerned about conflicts of interest & the risks you mentioned, like centralization & security issues. Taking tokens from Eigenlayer might influence your objectivity. The community needs to critically assess this decision to ensure it aligns with Ethereum's values.
Update: @JSeyff and I are increasing our odds of spot Ether ETF approval to 75% (up from 25%), hearing chatter this afternoon that SEC could be doing a 180 on this (increasingly political issue), so now everyone scrambling (like us everyone else assumed they'd be denied). See Nate's tweet below for probably order of events (but again we capping at 75% until we see more, eg filing updates)
Dencun is both the most complex fork we've shipped since the Merge, and tied for "most total EIPs in a fork" with Byzantium. There were more teams than ever involved in the process, and it somehow all worked out smoothly...! Grateful to work with all of them, onto the next one🫡!
@RyanSAdams Crypto has to rediscover its path by developing use cases that outperform traditional web2 solutions. Fostering widespread adoption and integrating into everyday routines is key. E.g. @elonmusk showed importance of free speech & improved #Twitter to compete with traditional media
#CryptoNews: U.S. Judge rejected #SEC request for #BinanceUS Asset Freeze for now, allowing #BinanceUS to continue doing business.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong should fight the SEC's lawsuits. It's evident that the Biden Admin is trying to kill crypto and push digital innovation offshore, leaving us way behind–despite the great innovators we have in America.
🚨 NEWS - Today I filed the SEC Stabilization Act to restructure the @SECGov and #FireGaryGensler.
U.S. capital markets must be protected from a tyrannical Chairman, including the current one. It’s time for real reform and to fire @GaryGensler as Chair of the SEC. Statement ⬇️
ETHEREUM IS ACTUALLY DOING REALLY WELL
No, this isn't "worse than past bear markets" 😂, everyone calm down, it's not even remotely close.
Here are some facts:
1) ETH Price
As I write this, the ETH Price is around $1900, which yes is lower than the ATH in Nov 2021, but it's *higher* than the high of 2017 bull market ($1400), and about 20x higher than the low of the last bear market (~$80).
In fact, the ETH price is higher right now than it's been the vast majority of its history.
Yes, things could get worse, but let's stop pretending we're in the depths because we're not.
2) Uniswap trading volume
Uniswap trading volume remains consistently higher than Coinbase.
During the last bear market, the term "defi" was just being coined and many people didn't think DEXes would ever really work, let alone actually surpass Coinbase. This is an insane accomplishment we should not take for granted.
3) ENS
During the last bear market, ENS had only about a dozen integrations, was getting maybe a few thousand registrations a month, had no funding model, and was running out of money with a four person team.
Now it has hundreds of integrations, is still getting 16k registrations a month (not counting the countless names off-chain with CCIP-read), is funded basically indefinitely for many years to come, and has a huge team. All of this is the complete opposite of the last bear market!
Not to mention we have SIWE, NFT avatars, new manager, and more now too.
4) Funding
In the last bear market, most projects had no money. A few were loaded from well-managed ICO treasuries, but most were scrounging.
Ethereum conferences and hackathons only kept happening because they were funded by competing Eth-killers who raised VC money and were sponsoring the Ethereum events so they could steal away devs from the Ethereum community lol. Yes, that's really what was happening. It was controversial, but that was the state of things.
Now, many many projects are extremely well funded. DAOs have billions of dollars. A big problem we have is figuring out how to efficiently deploy all this funding. Even if the tech failed (and it's not failing), we have enough money to keep trying for many many years to come. If anything, our problem is that too much money can create moral hazard.
5) DAOs are normal now
Speaking of DAOs, in the last bear market, the word "DAO" referred to the biggest failure in the history of Ethereum that happened in the bear market before that. And like defi and dexes, it wasn't clear DAOs would ever work.
They're not perfect, but now they secure treasuries worth billions of dollars and govern mission critical infrastructure. It's an incredible turn around.
6) We have many sectors
In the last bear market, NFTs technically existed but no one care about them. Defi was just being created and seemed like a long shot. ENS had only a dozen integrations and was running out of money. DAOs were joke.
But not anymore. We've come extremely far.
7) ETH2 progress
Finally, this may surprise noobs but we originally thought Ethereum would switch to PoS in 2017. I am not joking. 😂
It obviously didn't happen, and during the last bear market, it just kept getting delayed and delayed and delayed. Some people thought it would never happen, it was too difficult, etc.
But in this bear market, it happened and without any major problems. Amazing.
Conclusion
I haven't brought up the grand ol' bear market of 2014-16, in which someone stole all the bitcoin from the primary exchange in the world in one of the biggest heists in human history, The DAO nearly blew up all of Ethereum leading to a major split, and the entire crypto market cap was less than the market cap of just LINK today.
More could be said, but you get the picture. Yes, things are down, and they could even down further, but we're orders of magnitude better than we were in the past.
So stay focused, nothing is given, yes things could get worse, but let's keep building, the end.
1/ Today we’re sharing our “Wells response” to the SEC. As part of our response, @iampaulgrewal and I sat down to explain why we’re confident in the facts and on the law, and why a Wells notice is not in the best interest of the US. https://t.co/zkNaWGgtcK

#makesnosense
So many scam accounts have blue checkmarks these days.
Seems like a complete failure of blue checkmarks in their current form. I'm definitely seeing the wisdom of turning twitter into an open API and letting third parties try to make the best UIs to solve these problems.
