That’s not what taqiyya means. Taqiyya historically refers to concealing one’s religious beliefs to avoid persecution or serious harm, particularly among Shia Muslims. It is not some universal Islamic instruction to lie to non Muslims until they can take over society.

You’re essentially arguing that whenever a Muslim says they support religious freedom or oppose Sharia being imposed by the government, they’re secretly lying. That’s a conspiracy theory, not evidence.

You’re making a lot of generalizations here. Sharia isn’t one universal legal code that every Muslim wants enforced by the government. It covers religious and ethical practices, and Muslims have widely different interpretations of it. Supporting your religion’s teachings doesn’t automatically mean supporting theocracy.

And yes, there are controversial verses in the Quran, just as there are in the Bible. Deuteronomy 13 literally prescribes death for encouraging worship of other gods, and Christianity has a long history of forced conversions, religious persecution, and violence. Does that mean every Christian supports those things today? Ofc not.

Also, the Quran doesn’t explicitly prescribe the death penalty for leaving Islam. That punishment comes from certain interpretations of hadith and Islamic jurisprudence, and many Muslims reject it.

And your point about 50 Muslim-majority countries ignores centuries of history, trade, migration, and voluntary conversion. Indonesia, the country with the world’s largest Muslim population, became predominantly Muslim largely through trade and gradual conversion, not some massive military conquest.

You can criticize religious extremism and authoritarian governments without pretending that nearly two billion Muslims all believe the same things.

Every category of business inflation was hot, even after stripping away energy costs.
