ChatGPT alone is estimated to process around 2.5 billion prompts per day.
AI images can require nearly 1,450 times more energy.
The real problem is that data centers are often built in specific regions. If a large facility is located in an area already experiencing drought or water stress, it can increase competition for limited water resources.
The AI industry is currently facing the same challenge that many internet companies faced years ago: adoption is growing much faster than profitability.
Most people using AI today are on free plans. While there are millions of paying users, the overwhelming majority interact with AI without directly contributing enough revenue to offset the massive costs of training models, running inference, maintaining infrastructure, and building new data centers.
For years, the narrative has been about how AI will replace jobs and transform industries. The more immediate question may be: who pays for all of this?
Companies are already starting to ask tougher questions about ROI. If an AI tool costs millions to operate, it must either generate revenue, reduce costs, or create measurable business value.
The era of adopting AI simply because it is the latest trend will eventually give way to stricter financial scrutiny.
I also think the market will naturally find a balance. Not every workflow needs AI, not every problem requires a large language model, and not every company can justify unlimited AI spending.
My prediction is that many AI products eventually evolve toward business models similar to the modern internet. Some will survive through enterprise subscriptions, some through premium services, and many through advertising. In that sense, AI could become less like a revolutionary technology and more like another layer of the digital economy, similar to what search engines became.
There's also an environmental side to this discussion that often gets overlooked. The rapid expansion of AI infrastructure requires enormous amounts of electricity, water, hardware, and land for data centers.
As adoption grows, society will have to weigh AI's economic benefits against its environmental costs.
Technology, economics, and nature tend to force equilibrium. The long-term winners won't necessarily be the companies with the most powerful AI.
They'll be the companies that can deliver real value while remaining economically and environmentally sustainable.
🚨👀 Cristiano Ronaldo refused to receive the runner-up medal after defeat.
Meanwhile, when Lionel Messi and Inter Miami lost the final against Seattle, Messi stayed on the pitch and watched the entire celebration until the very end, wearing his second-place medal with respect, while the rest of his teammates had already walked away.
That’s the difference. One couldn’t even accept defeat. The other respected the moment, respected the winners, and respected the game itself.
You don’t show greatness only when you win. You show it in the way you lose too.
That’s why Messi will always be remembered as more than just a footballer. 🐐♥️
I went to our son's room, and I was unable to stop counting my blessings. After years of fruitless longing, he was the best thing to have ever happened to us. I remember the night when he came into this world, the night was gentle, and it poured. I knew God was about to bless us.
I was looking for my left sock in preparation for work, but I didn't let this ruin my mood. I looked at my wife, who was still sleeping, and I couldn't be more grateful. She looked infinitely beautiful. The movement of her lips while she rolled softly on the bed was magical.
I remember how trainquil and gentle it was when I woke up this morning. How the curtains swung from left to right as the morning breeze kissed them. The cranberry smell coming from the candle on the bedside table filled the room. It was my favourite smell in the morning.
And always, always remember the people who were there for you at your lowest. People who raised you from the ditch of your pessimism without asking for anything in return. Such gestures are rare to come by these days. I implore you to hold on to them in a good way.
This poem is for the bad days. For the days your heart no longer believes in your potential. The days when words fail to do justice to how sad you are. This poem is for the days when the sound of rain no longer fills you with relief. You are not done, you. You are a work of art.
It's okay to argue that you do not owe your parents anything, I don't know where you're coming from. However, when I think of the endless sacrifices my parents made for us, I'd be an ingrate, a foolish ingrate to say that I do not owe them anything.
@iMiaSanMia Love the maturity from Kompany. He played in the PL for years so he knows exactly how punishing that schedule is. No need for drama just facts and respect. Top manager he's becoming
@iMiaSanMia Klopp came from Germany, won the league and champions league. The message, adapt, work with what you can't change. Klopp complained, did his best and left.
