Message to myself 20yrs ago, 26 yr old Kuda in 1999 , 1 yr after leaving school:

Put the alcohol down now! Ditch 99.99% of these “homies”!

Go to forestry first thing in the morning. Buy as many gumtree seeds and seeking a you can afford. Go to you your family land and plant eucalyptus gum trees. You can fit about 1600 per hectare 2.5x2.5m each. (Pine trees also very good). Start with 10 hectares. After a year you will have about 16000 trees. Try do this every year and don’t stop.

After 7yrs or so, you will have your first ready for harvest forest. Try let some mature to 10 yrs; (bigger logs and poles demand more money). By the time you’re 36, you will have an estimated 16k gum poles to start selling yearly ( you can count on about 100k per year) going forward.

Also start some orchids. Citrus, avocado , mangos etc. learn about grafting and cultivars. People need to eats. You can use some of this timber to build up your land too. Learn a trade. Get good with your hands. Learn to build and fix thing. Stay curious.

See; in 20yrs time , ai will take away most of you design income, because it’s been training off your and other designers work silently in the background. The coding you lot to do will also be replaced by Ai. The website people want to pay a fortune for, will be a cheap commodity. Marketing and copyrighting will also pretty much be commodified and you won’t be able to sell that either. Start trading, open some shops. The communities that are merchants aren’t at all misguided. They understand that people will still need bread and pasta. Meat and eggs. The mechanic, plumber and builder will make a fortune from your country men in the diaspora.

You don’t need the jaguar or Audi. You need a reliable truck. Think Toyota no frills build like a tank. Get a tractor!

Learn to grow food. Ai would be able to copy that.

Do this now because by the time you are 46 , tired with kids , you don’t want to be looking at the changing world wondering why your degrees no longer matter.
