Completely moved by one of our student #IB Community Projects, promoting Autism awareness, challenging stereotypes & misconceptions due to the harm it causes. They collected real time data on their impact through QR codes hitting the streets to do real, authentic, impactful work!
After listening to @mikesmithlive at our Virtual Assembly on Tuesday, we read about Michael Platt’s @One4OneDesserts story and contemplated how we could use the skills we already have to help others & make life sweet! The kids’ answers were awesome! #FLhornets#michaelsdesserts
The reminder I needed today:
You might not be the teacher you would be in the classroom, and that's okay.
You're there for kids, you're demonstrating what it means to be a lifelong learner, and you're modeling what it looks like to persevere through challenges.
That matters.
They might not all feel comfortable talking with their mics, but these kiddos are all in when it comes to encouraging each other in the chat! Best comment today: “I love this class because everyone is so positive.” #FLHornets#virtualteachingchronicles
Going through the responses from their first task and they’re already making me laugh and cry! I love them all so much already! #FLHornets#virtualteachingchronicles
Before you assign:
🚦Can students mostly do this independently?
🚦Do students get some voice and choice?
🚦Is it equitable?
🚦Will students likely retain this?
🚦Will it take a reasonable amount of time?

Im broken, in tears. Students are messaging me. Straight up devastated for my students, staff and community! Devastated for my families, they dont have much, worried about their & my staffs well being! I get the why & thought I was ready to hear it, but don’t want to believe it!
