Plenty of laws out there now with no one enforcing them.

This country does not lead the world in murder rate. Not even close. Or violent crimes. Or suicide rate.
These are what matters.

We need much harsher treatment of people who break those laws.
We are FAR too soft on crime.

2. Regularly check every violent felon to ensure they aren't in possession of ANY illegal weapons
3. Better mental health screenings, inc. social media posts

We still need oil for lots of things that simply have no substitute.

I agree we must move away from oil. What exactly do you believe will replace oil? I'm unsure at this point.

You are correct, by the way, if they do have papers from the court for a pending asylum case they ARE here legally. If not, they aren't.
