#WorldMathsDay event today, managed to combine two of my passions of running like a crazy person and doing maths problems. Also, proud of how much of the success of today relied on the contributions of A-level and Further Maths students 😊 @HISDubai @CognitaSchools
World Maths Day in full swing @HISDubai KS3 Secondary. Superb creativity and organisation from @HIS_Maths. Full use of learning skills and great prep for sports day tomorrow! 😂
Year 7 developing the undervalued skill of following instructions, otherwise known as algorithms. Making some pretty things! 🦢 🌹 🎈 @horizonintlschool #everyonecounts#everyonecontributes#everyonesucceeds https://t.co/x2FcYajxdY
Really enjoyable session this afternoon with Secondary Team on the Language of Assessment. It might look like we’re just having fun, but focused on how to ensure students benefit from, not fear “assessment” #everyonecounts#everyonecontributes#everyonesucceeds@HISDubai
@boss_maths @Mrs_McD_teaches Evariste Galois may be the most interesting of the lot! Worked on finding a “quintic formula” but was a great e.g. of why you should always show your working... hastily recorded his life’s work the night before being killed in a duel. See @SLSingh Fermat’s Last Theorem for more!
Lovely to finally have the chance to get in and have the chance to display some of the fabulous pieces of Distance Time Graph Creative Writing produced by year 8s during Distance Learning - very entertaining to mark! https://t.co/x4YBzoZOGo
Introducing the newest member of the Horizon Maths Department, Leo Andrew Clifford, born in Dubai at 18:16 GST on 07/07/20, 9lb 5oz. We are now home with our beautiful baby, a happy and healthy Mummy @HIS_Secondary and a Daddy bursting and with joy and pride!
@DrFrostMaths Worth noting that I suggested this update on Sunday morning (hadn’t realized it was the U.K. weekend, being at work myself) and it was completed by Sunday afternoon! The number (and impact) of tweaks, updates and changes that have been made on DFM in last 8 weeks is staggering!
This will be great for assessing the understanding of all students remotely! Arguably, AFL has been one of the most challenging elements of Distance Learning in Maths.
Minor update: By request of @HIS_Maths (in Dubai), ALL students answers will now be displayed on the teacher screen for a Live! game, rather than just the fastest 10. https://t.co/IP0P2jV2O6
