to be honest I don’t see Rafayel being the only one to die in the myth. I can’t really imagine his mc simply continuing on without him

for all her strengths, she’s deeply dependent on him emotionally. throughout his content, she always seeks him out, always runs toward him - a devoted follower, his little shadow

even in the main story, when he disappears - she doesn’t know how to move forward. she exists almost beside herself, just clinging to memories of him. in a way, she disappears too, even if she’s still physically there

that’s why I think if Rafayel dies in the myth, his bride won’t remain behind for long. she’ll follow him

their story has never felt like one where only one of them is left behind. again and again it presents them as moving through existence together, as one - when the sea god awakens, his bride opens her eyes. they arrive together and leave together

even in fragrant dream, there’s an implication that Rafayel sacrificed himself to preserve her soul after tears of romirro events. their bond feels less like two separate destinies and more like a shared one, always by each others side
