Anti Blackness is universal, but racism in America is the most perverse I have ever experienced. I think guns being freely owned and chattel slavery add another layer of sinister racism that empowers people here. Iโd travel more if I could
๐ฏ๐ต A black man was traumatized by the racism he experienced in Japan. He explains that a European couple was obnoxious at a restaurant, but Japanese people stared him down instead.
I'm sure there are rude tourists. Have European tourists built up a reputation for criminality and rudeness abroad, or does that honor go to black/African people? Hint: Europeans didn't turn their cities into ghettos... it was a different group ๐คทโโ๏ธ
iโve been listening to indigo a lot since coming back from korea, and today i randomly thought about no.2 again. i think the more i grow, the more i understand the messages about letting go of regrets and accepting the past for what it is. continuing forward instead of constantly looking back. and if you do look back, realizing that even the things you once regretted helped shape who you are today, i believe that is what's most important. :)
indigo will always be a special album to me. every time i return to it i somehow find a different feeling that resonates in a new way. itโs definitely one of those albums that you'll carry with yourself for a long time, even without realizing it.
