I've reached out to several teachers for interviews in the past couple of days who have said, "Oh yeah, I read The Bell Ringer," which is...not a bad feeling at all 😉 (And hey you can read it, too, subscribe at the link in my bio!)
Check out the Teaching that Succeeds YouTube Channel. Link in Substack. Huge shout out 2 @HKorbey & @KataSolow 4 hosting this event w/me. Their incredible efforts opens the door 2 viewing excellent educators sharing evidenced-based inst. You won’t regret watching- slides included
@tetheredtoed1 Yep. The Texas Education Agency is featured in this story! (Other states should read The Bell Ringer and get the real story on evidence in teaching and learning :) https://t.co/oRbSUPMHAG

Evidence-based teaching is spreading, but scale remains a challenge. In her recent article, @HKorbey examines progress in teacher prep, highlighting DFI's decade of work & our CEO @ValerieSakimura on policy that puts the science of learning first. https://t.co/ecM1mtcR02
I'm so excited to announce I will be presenting at the virtual event Teaching that Succeeds hosted by @HKorbey@mommagordon2 and @goyenfoundation! Save the date for this amazing event!
AI is increasingly being adopted in classrooms, with some schools in the US even replacing teachers with AI tutors. But will artificial intelligence really transform education? @HKorbey investigates

Thanks to @alexanderrusso for having me and asking great questions about the national freakout/backlash over classroom tech. IMHO there need to be more stories looking at how students use apps for learning—10 minutes at the end of math? Main instruction? Are kids learning?
Great work by @HKorbey. Happy to be featured in it about the great work our school district is doing to move to a Science of Learning approach for mathematics, after the great progress our district made in literacy via our Science of Reading curriculum. https://t.co/IP6V4avEK1
A growing number of schools are abandoning "productive struggle"—where kids try solving math problems before being taught how. Research shows this frustrates students and hinders learning. Instead, teachers should first show students how to solve problems, then give lots of practice, then tackle new challenges. When teacher Daniel Carr switched to this method, his students' passing rates jumped from 33% to 52%.

@mathillustrated@jillbarshay The reason I wanted to report the story is because teachers, as well as district and state leaders, said a lot of popular elementary curriculum wants students solving new problems without showing them how.
Great talk with @HKorbey exploring the complex intersection of Science of Learning and progressive pedagogy and our shared frustration with the constant "reimagining" of pedagogy.

Folks: Putting out an APB for this summer's Teaching That Succeeds Symposium from @HKorbey. Teacher-led. Data first. Real routines from real classrooms. I'm throwing in a proposal under a #SoTL lens (obviously). Deadline May 1—come present or come learn.
