@cursedlineages "I see."
A nod, sympathetic to the others words. He felt terrible for him. Sure, he didn't know what a father was supposed to be but he was certain it wasn't that.
@cursedlineages "Well, then I suppose it was a pleasure to meet you but I should be going now."
He almost let 'because I am neither of those things' slip but bit his tongue.
"Wouldn't want to be the reason you suffer."
@cursedlineages "Some of them are. Good to see the old families still being prejudiced pieces of trash."
He gave another shrug. He was sure his last name would mean nothing if they knew he was a half blood. He kept that secret to himself.
@cursedlineages "Reading in the library. Sitting quietly in the greenhouse with puffs. Dodging the insults thrown at me by your house mates because I wasn't sorted into the same house my family was."
He gave a shrug.
@cursedlineages "Adriel. Adriel Lestrange. Believe me, I know what you mean. My father is Rabastan Lestrange. He's a grade a... prick."
He tried, truly, to call his father an arsehole but he couldn't. It just wasn't how he'd been raised.
@cursedlineages "Oh."
His words were caught up in his throat. He didn't even know how to respond to that. Nobody had ever laid a hand on him. Not even his uncle who was often angry.
Adriel scratched the back of his neck awkwardly.
"I'm sorry."
@cursedlineages miss you but what you would miss out on, instead?"
A sunshine outlook probably wasn't the greatest way to change the others mind but what did Adriel know about helping others? He was trying, here.
@cursedlineages "I often feel the same. I visit my father once a year in Azkaban, I have no siblings, never knew my mum. Who would miss me if I was gone?"
Strange as it was, Adriel felt a bit of kinship with the other boy. That was a first. He had no friends.
"But maybe it isn't who would —
@cursedlineages Taking in the others words, he bit his bottom lip. Now wasn't the time to parrot his uncles words about how taking ones own life was cowardly. He shrugged.
"Lesser of two evils then? What's the other option?"
@cursedlineages "Scent blocking charm."
He responds casually. Again, he fought the urge to wince at the other young man's words. His uncle Rodolphus would slap him silly if he ever spoke such things.
"Contemplate what?"
@cursedlineages His upper lip curled slightly at the word 'piss' - Adriel wasn't so... vulgar. Shaking his head, he gave the Slytherin one more glance before considering the door.
"I'll have to find somewhere else, I suppose."
