What’s really outlandish about the whole thing is that these idiots have singularly failed to “wipe Israel off the map” (in a physical sense) for almost 80 years. Each time they tried they went backwards and the Jews, the world’s most hated and powerless people, became a global military power. But perhaps the Jews (and I am one) were missing something in all the hubris of their military victories.

Actually the true threat came in a psychological rather than physical sense. You’d think that we’d be able to figure that out as we’ve been extolling the power of the human mind as a way to fix our problems and overcome adversity for centuries (Freud being a case in point as well as the talmud, the torah and the sheer number of Nobel prizes won by Jews over the years). Now we’ve been conquered by the one thing we always understood, psychology. We must always respect our enemies and in this case have to take a long hard look at how the Iranians, Qataris, hamas, hezbollah and their ilk have achieved worldwide hostility to Jews in such a short period of time.

They say it’s because of OUR actions not theirs but of course we know how quickly they incited the mob even before Oct 7 had finished. It’s a propaganda coup extraordinaire and we walked right into it. Perhaps we didn’t have much choice (or so we thought at the time) but we need to consider our actions going forward and how these actions are perceived outside of Israel.

I think we can recover our global standing but it will take work with our friends and allies. A multifaceted approach of our allies cutting off qatari funding to western universities and israel coming to a durable piece with its neighbours will be needed (which i think is now more possible than ever before with a weakened iran and its proxies). We’ll see but the future is bright! Don’t ever give up on that
