The Model 77E is locked and loaded for the jungle of Hell Let Loose: Vietnam 🔫🌴 ❓ So, what is the Model 77E Shotgun? The Model 77E was one of the most commonly issued shotguns of the Vietnam War. The US Army purchased more Model 77Es than any other shotgun during the conflict, ordering around 60,000 units. Its slightly shortened stock and rubber recoil pad made it easier to handle in close quarters, which led to it seeing widespread use across the US infantry and its allies. The Model 77E entered service early in the war, with the first shipments arriving in 1963. At the time, some units still relied on leftover brass buckshot shells from World War II. These shells corroded quickly in the humid Vietnamese climate, so they were soon replaced by more resilient plastic shells.
