Kurdistan was divided into two parts on May 17, 1639, with the Treaty of Qasr-e Shirin between the Ottomans and the Persians; Erdogan is referring to that treaty.
Kurdistan is the homeland of the Kurds.
Free Kurdistan
Long live Kurdistan
Turkish President Erdogan:
"Iran is our neighbor. The Iranian people, with whom we have been in peace and tranquility since 1639, are our brothers, just like other peoples in the
region.
We have lived side-by-side in peace for centuries. Inshallah, we will live side-by-side in peace and tranquility with our Iranian brothers for many more
centuries.
Our priority is to ensure a ceasefire and open the door for dialogue."

In a statement, the Alliance of Political Forces of Iranian Kurdistan declares that this war is not a conflict between Iranian society and its nations on one hand, and the United States, Israel, or the international community on the other. The Alliance also calls upon the people of Kurdistan to:
1) Stay vigilant. The people of Kurdistan must remain alert as events unfold, respond to developments wisely, and align their political actions with the guidance and recommendations of the Alliance.
2) Protect infrastructure. During these days of the regime’s collapse and popular uprising, all administrative and service facilities must be safeguarded for public interest and general needs.
3) Call on regime forces. We urge the armed forces of the regime in Kurdistan to separate from the remnants of the Islamic Republic. We advise them not to miss this final opportunity to turn their backs on the enemy and choose the side of their nation.
4) Act with wisdom. All people of Kurdistan must approach these changes with prudence and maturity. They should avoid impulsive actions and personal acts of revenge that could jeopardize public security and community safety.
5) Ensure personal safety. We request that individuals remain as far as possible from the regime’s military and security centers.
6) Support one another. We call on our people - especially merchants, shopkeepers, and landlords - to look out for each other, particularly renters, the poor, and the homeless, so that we may overcome these difficult days through mutual support.
