@docanarchy You could read the papers instead of assuming the studies are poorly done
Based on my limited knowledge they’re about as effective as ssris for depression with much fewer (but not zero) side effects. Nowhere near 100% cure rate
@brainenergy4me Poor health feels like such a waste but it’s not. I now see it as an opportunity to let go of how we think life should be but isn’t. What a gift. Took 10 hard years to realize but it’s very freeing
And go figure I’ve improved the most in the few months since this mindset shift
@nickcammarata I’d say 1. To me, intimidating is more fear-inducing (would this person cause me harm) than complex/technical. You seem like a kind person :)
@pyrounbounded I think experiencing a range of intense emotions is a sign of health, so yeah inner peace feels like the wrong phrase. Seems like people want their mind free of constant fear/anxiety but not necessarily to feel chill all the time
@p_millerd Surrender experiment was very formulaic. Every chapter is about how there was a seemingly insurmountable problem that just happened to resolve once decided to let go. Not much variety but maybe that’s by design to drive home the messsage
@p_millerd I much preferred the untethered soul to the surrender experiment. The latter read like everything just worked out for him and was hard to relate to. Will complete the trifecta with living untethered soon, curious if it’s written differently than his other two books
@brainenergy4me Yes. If you think life is hard, maybe you’re just not healthy. Requires self awareness because so much emphasis is placed on external rather than internal circumstances as primary sources of life friction. Also requires a nuanced view of what it means to be healthy
@AskYatharth I’ve had fatigue for many years and use caffeine to power through, often with little success. Starting to see caffeine use as resisting my current state and now try to lean into how I feel and let go of expectations of how I wish my brain was working. More naps, feels better
