The OCoB is currently holding a retreat on the Preparation of the Annual Report & Financial Statements for FY 2025/26. The retreat was officially opened by DG Corporate Services, FCPA Jacinta Masila, who emphasized the importance of accuracy, accountability, and timely reporting.
We are reviewing our 2023–2027 Strategic Plan to strengthen our mandate, enhance service delivery, and align our priorities with emerging fiscal realities and stakeholder needs, ensuring every shilling works for Kenyans.
As Africa Public Service Day comes to a close, we extend our sincere appreciation to all visitors who stopped by the Office of the Controller of Budget (OCoB) exhibition booth at KICC.
Beyond oversight, we believe in giving back. Following the conclusion of the M&E exercise, OCoB staff led by the CoB visited Shalom Shelter Children’s Home for a Corporate Social Responsibility activity, sharing support, hope, and compassion with the children.
Today, the Controller of Budget officially closed the Monitoring & Evaluation Exercise in Naivasha. The exercise was performed across various Ministries, Departments and Agencies to reinforce accountability, transparency, and value for money in public spending.
CS Hon. FCPA John Mbadi @JohnMbadiN today held a consultative meeting with Meru Governor Isaac Mutuma M’ethingia @Meru_county. The Governor was accompanied by senior Meru County officials. The meeting, also attended by Controller of Budget Dr. Margaret Nyakang’o, was held at the National Treasury Building and discussed matters of mutual interest, including the strengthening of intergovernmental fiscal coordination. @CoB_Kenya
The Controller of Budget, FCPA Dr. Margaret Nyakang’o, joined the Kenya delegation in London, United Kingdom, for the Commonwealth Meridian Training on Debt Management aimed at strengthening public finance oversight and debt transparency.
Controller of Budget Dr. Margaret Nyakang’o met the NADCO Committee, led by Dr. Agnes Zani, to unpack the 10-point Presidential agenda for constitutional and electoral reforms, spotlighting the OCoB mandate in safeguarding prudent use of public funds and key governance issues.

The @OCOB_Kenya team was in Busia County to monitor & evaluate budget implementation for FY 2024/25, in line with Section 5(b) of the Controller of Budget Act, 2016. The meeting was chaired by Gypson Wafula, Chief Officer, Treasury and Economic Planning.
The Controller of Budget today led the development of the Annual Work Plan for FY 2025/26 in Machakos County. She urged all departments to align their activities with the Strategic Plan, allocate costs appropriately, and focus on outputs and milestones.
