We would love to add these photos to our collection, but we need to get in touch with the donor to do so.

#OTD 1917 was the 1st day of the Battle of Passchendaele. It was a brutal battle with heavy casualties on both sides and has come to be associated with mud, blood and futility.
Both the Seaforth and Cameron Highlanders were present, as well as the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada.
#OTD in 1857, Lieutenant Andrew Cathcart Bogle received the Victoria Cross for his actions at Oonao during the First War of Indian Independence.
His VC, alongside his Indian Mutiny Medal and India General Service Medal are on display in the Seaforth Highlanders Room.
To celebrate our upcoming exhibition, this is one of the #PhotosFromTheArchive that will be on display.
Sadly we know very little about the photograph, but it dates from the 1890s, and shows soldiers of an Indian regiment driving a 'waggon' possibly in Chitral.
#OTD in 1812, the 79th took part in the Battle of Salamanca.
The Anglo-Portuguese army, under the Duke of Wellington, defeated French forces at Arapiles during the Peninsular War.
