Resolution
Date: February 8, 2025
To: Mavericks Governors Miriam Adelson and Patrick Dumont, CEO Rick Welts, General Manager Nico Harrison, and NBA Commissioner Adam Silver
The citizens of DFW have determined that you have broken a trust that is paramount to maintaining a positive corporate relationship with our community. By trading two superstars in the middle of the night like you did on February 1, you proved that you have no regard for the well being of your players or the fans who have invested our time, money, and hearts in sharing their success.
To a take player like Luka Doncic who was embraced by our community and to remove a superstar like Anthony Davis from a team where he won a championship in such a cold, heartless manner was despicable. By stripping Luka from us, you have severed a relationship that can never be mended.
It is therefore resolved:
You are no longer welcome at any of our civic events, we will not participate in Maverick or NBA events, and we will not purchase your merchandise. We will not support a league that creates such animus toward the communities in which you’re located.
If you traded Luka and Anthony to intentionally severe local ties, the community is better off without you. If you did it unintentionally, you have greatly failed at corporate governance. Therefore, we pray for the success of both players not because of you, but in spite of you.
Sincerely,
The DFW Sports Community
@MichaelBerrySho@PattiArmstrong So happy for them and thankful that the birth mom did not decide to have an abortion but instead chose life and now look at this beautiful miracle. A sweet couple who has wanted a baby for so long are now getting one because of the goodness of the birth mom.
@annlillianbond@farmingandJesus I completely disagree with you! Robert Morris was the ADULT in this situation. We do not know the circumstance of each time he abused her meaning that we don’t know how she ended up alone with him. This underaged girl was a VICTIM and is not to be blamed. Period!
@annlillianbond@farmingandJesus Annie it does NOT matter why she was in the car. This family trusted Robert Morris. He was a family friend, a minister and married with a child He betrayed that entire family and of course He betrayed God. People should be able to trust ministers!
