Firing Squad. At the very least. If you really want all the little Discord freaks and aspiring Antifa assassins to never, ever, ever think about trying this again, spill this killer’s guts open so wide, make his death so humiliating, that no one will want their guts opened next.
I say privatize it, and better yet: let us opt-out of receiving physical mail.
I bet 30%+ of Americans would gladly opt-out. Send us an email, a text, a phone call, a carrier pigeon. Anything but physical mail.
Alongside federal funding, the USPS gets a lot of its funding through bulk mail prepaid postage. In other works: junk mail.
Why are my tax dollars going towards an organization that is effectively spamming me with physical junk mail? It’s the worst of both worlds.
It’s beyond frustrating to dig through piles of junk to find the one thing that might actually be important. And of course, all the spam mail these days prints “important” on the envelope 🤦♂️
@GhostOfStoneyX2 The house money going in, then crashing soon after for 3 years must have been tough.
I’ve thought about that crazy Stoney guy on Twitter a lot during this bear market. Cheers
Incredible how it's been 9 years and the leftoids still refuse to understand Trump and his appeal
Yes, people like Trump more than Walz because his power suit and tie are a subtle rejection of radical egalitarianism, of the idea that all non-equal outcomes must be destroyed🧵👇
@jeremykauffman I agree. And studies on diet based outcomes are almost impossible to control accurately. Best way to be safe is to eat “natural” food and work out.
But also love when people use our “ancestors food” as rationale, when our ancestors had a life expectancy of 28
@jeremykauffman I think the best outcome would be true clinical studies being done and if conclusion supports it, require a surgeon general warning on foods that contain seed oils
@PeterRQuinones I was consumed by Mises Inst. works for so many years and only since COVID have I started to realize that cultural externalities were completely ignored in their analysis. But it’s still hard to let go of it completely
Trump said he'd put a libertarian in the cabinet.
He also said he'd abolish the Department of Education.
He can check both of those boxes at the same time if he hires me.
I'd shut it down and then fire myself.
Im seeing a lot of Democrats far too upset right now. Sure, Trump won the presidency again. But hey, he wasn't that bad the first time around, right? It's a good thing you haven't spent the last eight years trying to throw him in prison. I'm sure he will treat you fine. Yeah, you lost the Senate, and it's looking like the House will be a red majority, too, but you can't win em all.
What's really important to not overreact to is the fact that Trump will likely lead to a conservative super majority in the Supreme Court and appoint a massive number of federal judges. The good news is that they aren't there forever. They usually replace them when they fall half dead at the bench, so it won't be forever.
You could try and cheat the next election, but I'm thinking there might be some new laws drafted regarding voter integrity. I mean, realistically, this won't be forever. Maybe it'll swing back in a dozen generations or so. Stop being so pessimistic. Just pick yourselves up by the bootstraps. Put on a happy face and celebrate democracy in action.
CEASE & DESIST: I, together with many Attorneys and Legal Scholars, am watching the Sanctity of the 2024 Presidential Election very closely because I know, better than most, the rampant Cheating and Skullduggery that has taken place by the Democrats in the 2020 Presidential Election. It was a Disgrace to our Nation! Therefore, the 2024 Election, where Votes have just started being cast, will be under the closest professional scrutiny and, WHEN I WIN, those people that CHEATED will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law, which will include long term prison sentences so that this Depravity of Justice does not happen again. We cannot let our Country further devolve into a Third World Nation, AND WE WON’T! Please beware that this legal exposure extends to Lawyers, Political Operatives, Donors, Illegal Voters, & Corrupt Election Officials. Those involved in unscrupulous behavior will be sought out, caught, and prosecuted at levels, unfortunately, never seen before in our Country.
There are at least two big problems with classical liberalism:
1) The rule-of-law problem (the public park problem)
Liberal societies leave no room for intuition or vibes.
Public parks often disallow alcohol or panhandling, but the real purpose of most park rules is just to keep troublesome people out.
Unfortunately, these rule-based enforcement schemes punish good people while still being unable to handle bad people. So you end up with decent people not being allowed to have wine at their picnic, but the vagrants are still there, drinking out of a bag.
This problem happens in banking. Relationship banking used to be common, but was essentially made illegal by civil rights laws. It’s only legal to lend money using highly-rigid rules to prove you didn’t discriminate.
There are a lot of benefits to clear rules and explicitness, but in only using those mechanisms, we lose the ability to make decisions with our oldest and most powerful reasoning system: intuition.
2) The hardware problem
Classical liberalism is a set of software that most people simply cannot run.
People who are drawn to classical liberalism are often intelligent but have woefully inadequate understandings of the worldviews and behavior of people different from them.
These classical liberals then create a society that is exploited by people who do not share their values and are literally incapable of sharing them.
For around a century, we've run the experiment of whether there is an educational or cultural mechanism to take a low-IQ African and turn them into a classical liberal. The mechanism does not appear to exist.
So you end up with a democracy in which some portion of people vote for rights and tolerance of others, and those people do not return the favor. They instead follow their biological drives to extract and level others, via the exact tools the classical liberals handed to them.
If something like classical liberalism is to continue to exist, it must start by recognizing that many people are constitutionally incapable of being one.
