I really hope GTA 6 borrows heavily from Max Payne 3’s gunplay and bullet impact system. To this day, it’s still Rockstar’s best-feeling shooter in my opinion, and that game came out over a decade ago.
The weight of the weapons, the reactions from enemies when getting hit, the animations, the sound design everything felt raw, brutal, and satisfying. Every shootout had intensity because the combat actually felt grounded and impactful instead of arcade-like.
If GTA 6 can combine that level of shooting mechanics with an open-world environment, the combat could end up being incredible. It’s honestly crazy how well Max Payne 3 still holds up after all these years.
