Two weeks before the 25th anniversary of the deadliest terrorist attack in American history, CBC has instructed its journalists not to refer to 9/11 as a terrorist attack.
Nearly 3,000 innocent people were murdered that day, including 24 Canadians, in an act of monstrous evil.
Canadians stood shoulder to shoulder with our American friends, neighbours, and allies in the aftermath. Nearly 7,000 stranded passengers found safe harbour in Gander. More than 40,000 Canadians would go on to serve in Afghanistan alongside our allies in the fight against terrorism.
To call 9/11 anything other than a terrorist attack is an appalling distortion of history. It dishonours the victims and their families, the survivors, and the first responders who suffered from the horrors of that day.
CBC must immediately apologize and retract this directive.
I got to spend some time on earth with a real angel. Thank you for filling our hearts with so much joy. Hearing her sing the lyrics I wrote for Home Sweet Home was a huge highlight in my career. What a doll. What a powerhouse. What a beautiful life. 🦋
Working with Dolly on “Home Sweet Home” was one of the true highlights of our career. We can still hear her voice saying, “Well, how about that, Dolly and Mötley at #1?”
Thank you for the music, the laughter, the kindness and the inspiration, Dolly.
Our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and fans around the world.
With love and respect,
Mötley Crüe
Brutal circumstances, but fine job by my TSN colleagues in Alberta and the home base of telling the story of the WJC cancellation. No one is happy about this. You may not agree with the reasoning, but TSN is covering every angle on the fly. #TSNHockey
I know there was long wait times yesterday but I went and voted at 7:45 tonight and was in and out in 5 minutes. The staff working we’re so friendly but did say they’ve dealt with some angry anti-maskers. Be kind to the staff - these are our neighbours. #ldnont#elexn44
