#70JahreGG
Our astronaut Luca Parmitano is assigned as pilot of NASA’s #ArtemisIII mission.
With Europe powering Orion with the European Service Module, this mission will test the critical operations preparing for humankind's return to the Moon.
A strong step forward for ESA–NASA partnership.

@rockysgrace Dont know about Gerst and Maurer, since it was said before that the german one would be the frist to fly to the moon.
(Also both are expected to be at the opening ceremony of ILA in Berlin next morning.)
@AstraPublica@dpoddolphinpro@esa Because its just announced at the moment, Im sure if the missions get more detailed it will be with ESA. Like it was before when ESA resvere astronauts did fly commercial via Axiom to ISS.
@ShuttleAlmanac@Tomasz28984930 Idk, think more US only, but if european than probably french or italian. Since my last info was that the german will fly to/around/on (not clear if on) the Moon first.
@AndrewParsonson Good that actions are being taken to ensure no further delays.
Is there anywhere the list of all 19 missions that are impacted, beside LISA, EnVision & NewAthena?
@AndrewParsonson Seems like after Orbex and now here, bit of a clean up among european rocket startups shows up slowly. Guess thats normal when so many companies try in Europe and proably will get even more when some accomplished to get into market with working launch vehicle.
@peterrhague Guess because its not only about the launch, but also the radioisotope heater units and braking engines for the lander. As a whole package provided by NASA now.
@ThePrimalDino Most likely the vehicle(s) that are the outcome of the ESA Leo-Cargo-Return-Service programm.
At the moment those are just meant to be cargo crafts, but to be part of the programm they need to fulfill the option to be able to be switched to crew design.
Artemis II just took humankind farther than ever before. 🚀
Our European Service Module sent Orion around the Moon and safely back home, providing power, propulsion and life support for the crew.
