Add in this poor sportsmanship trickles down into high school and youth leagues. Sportsmanship goes out the windows, and the end result is an unattractive product.

So let's just keep the no taunting rules for now.

That's were rules against taunting come into play. If athletes were allowed to taunt without consequence, not only would the game become a farce, but injuries would occur from insuing fights.
