Students from the Holdrum Robotics program participated in a carwash fundraiser along with other Pascack Valley districts. Participants sold tickets to raise money for their upcoming season and competition in November.
Welcome back! To celebrate our 1st 2 weeks together, the Student Council will be sponsoring our 1st HMS Spirit Day, Friday, September 23rd. Represent River Vale with blue, gold or RV gear spirit day! Anything with the River Vale logo counts. Can't wait to see you all on Friday!

HMS orientation is scheduled for Wednesday, August 31, 2022. Each session is approximately 45 minutes and broken down into sessions by student last name:
A-H 8:30am

The 1st ever HMS Squawk Cup was awarded to the 6th graders at the final all school assembly. 6th graders showed their spirit all year long earning spirit points and were presented the CUP by the Hawk!
Mrs. Groff's Archaeology class first learned about the 7 Ancient Wonders. Then they researched and decided on a "new" Wonder of the World. Afterward, they created an art piece that showcased that wonder as well as a personal take on it!
Ms. Rizer’s 7th graders competed as teams in a Bananagrams tournament last week. It came down to two intense word battles, and the champions have been crowned!
The HMS Dance & Theater class created their own number from the musical, Newsies. Students researched, directed scenes, choreographed dance routines, filmed and even recorded the singing. Thanks Ms Rasmussen for an awesome class!
7th gr science students culminated their academic year with a frog dissection. They investigated the frog’s external & internal anatomy, while comparing it to other organisms, including humans.
HMS was proud to join the ranks with the River Vale PD to carry the Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch that came through River Vale on June 10. The Beyond the Classroom Academy sponsored the event & with the HMS Community, raised over $1,500 for NJ Special Olympics.
Mrs. G's 8th grade Algebra I students create catapults to launch mini plastic Army men. They combine their knowledge of Quadratics and Physics to find the upward initial velocity of their Army Man.

The HMS Peer Helpers led the 6th & 7th graders in Project Adventure. Students participated in team building, interactive tasks throughout the day while being supported by the 8th grade Peer Helpers! A great day and another tradition returns!
