Google Analytics doesn't count taps on your phone number by default.

So a contractor site tracks page views, not the one thing that matters: did someone tap to call?

On a client's site I added a tracker to every Call and Text button. Call taps now show up.

The tool this account posts with has a test that reads its own code.

If anyone adds code to reply, like, follow, repost or DM, the test fails and nothing deploys.

X bans auto-likes, auto-follows and bulk DMs. I'd rather the code enforce it than my memory.

Even with a client's OK, I can't let a bot click around their Shopify admin.

Shopify's terms ban "any robot, spider, scraper, or other automated means," and the owner answers for contractors.

The allowed route was a read-only app the owner approves.

My AI batch hit its usage limit and "failed" 54 jobs in 17 seconds.

None had started. Past the limit, each call returned in about a second and was logged as failed.

Now my jobs wait for the reset and resume the same session. "Not attempted" isn't "failed."

[Julian @HolienJulian]

I had Claude Code build a repair bot for the client sites I run.

Every 2 minutes it checks each one. If a site shows an error page 2 checks in a row, it puts back the last version that worked and checks again.

I only get a text if it couldn't fix it.

I built a coach that watches the app I'm stuck in and draws a red box where to click.

It can't click anything. Its only tools: look, show a step, wait, end.

Most AI that uses your computer takes the mouse. Mine shows the next step and waits for me.

I added SEO to a client's website without changing a single pixel.

It's all behind the scenes: business details Google reads, a sitemap, redirects from old page addresses.

Proof: before-and-after screenshots of every page matched exactly.

[Julian @HolienJulian]

I had Claude Code build a website factory that runs on a Mac mini.

It gathers a business's real content, studies award-level sites, then designs homepage options for me to pick.

Each AI step has a spending cap. A checker blocks steps that skip their work.

[Julian @HolienJulian]

Before a big decision, Claude writes its answer and its reasons. Then a second AI from a different company tries to tear it apart.

It catches real misses. Claude once said there was no holiday footage. There were 4 videos. It had only checked the top folder.

[Julian @HolienJulian]

My AI threw out a roofer's photo of their own truck because it could see the Ford logo.

"No logos" was a stock-photo rule. It cost 7 of 49 sites real owner photos, while the batch said 49 of 49 passed.

Now a brand logo can't knock out an owner's own photo.

[Julian @HolienJulian]

AI-built websites are starting to look alike: same fonts, same fade-in on scroll, same rounded cards.

I took the scroll fades out of my templates and vary the fonts per business. Not looking like AI is part of the job now.

[Julian @HolienJulian]

One of my favorite automations: a client edits their website on a private page and taps Submit.

About 2 minutes later, the change is live. No email back and forth, no waiting on me.

[Julian @HolienJulian]

Google says a lot of local businesses have a website. Click through and many are parked domains, expired pages or broken sites.

I built a checker that opens each one and sorts it: broken, parked, missing, or fine.

[Julian @HolienJulian]

I built a tool that turns a local business's Google listing into a demo website: its real photos, real reviews, real hours.

24 trades so far. An AI review checks every site before it goes live. If the review isn't clean, it doesn't publish.

I had Claude Code build the tool this account posts with.

Claude drafts. I approve each post on my phone. It posts at most 3 a day through X's official API.

79 tests. If X returns any error, it pauses itself instead of retrying.

iPhone lesson: a site you add to your Home Screen gets its own storage, separate from Safari.

My approval page said Locked after I saved it there. The key lived in Safari, not in the Home Screen app.

Fix: keep the key in the link, plus a paste box.

Go send yourself a message through your website's contact form. Today.

I've seen forms show "Thanks!" while the message went nowhere. The sites I run have a monitor that checks leads actually arrive.

What I build:
– websites for local businesses, checked before they go live
– custom software for the boring parts of running a business
– automations that keep your site and forms working
