Google’s research shows that psychological safety increases revenue.
Here’s how to have more of it in your team:
- make learning, not execution, your goal
- acknowledge that you make mistakes, too
- encourage curiosity by asking a lot of questions.

Stop focusing on ‘things to do’ for a moment. Think of things not to do instead.
Compile a list of things to avoid - e.g.:
- no looking at phone during work hours
- no jumping into an easier task to escape the harder (and more urgent) one
- no skipping breaks.

Want to be seen as a better leader?
Communicate differently depending on whether your team is proactive (motivated by words like ‘Why wait?’) or reactive (reacting better to phrases like ‘Let’s think about this’). —@PipDecks
Attune and adjust to human uniqueness.
Chronically overwhelmed employees become adept at concealing how much they’re struggling.
Just like a duck that is floating above the water effortlessly, but its legs are paddling fast.
Try to be more observant of your team and help them overcome challenges.

Are you stuck preparing a presentation or writing a story?
Get an A5 sheet of paper.
To get to the bottom of what you want to get across, start with these magic words: 'This I believe…' until you have a whole page.
This should remind you of your mission.

When we set out to improve, we can become exhausted by endless to-do lists.
To make change easier, think of what you want to be, not what you want to do.
For example, instead of Running 5 miles daily, jot down that you want to be consistently active.

@MisterA@sage_stage For sure. The quality of adult interactions mediate outcomes for students. If the teachers don’t get along then the students won’t. Culture and relational trust should be a priority.
@daveschmittou Agree to some extent and would also ask why are we doing testing the way we are doing it? What might “end of year” teaching look like of testing was conducted at the end of the SY instead of 3/4?
