“No work will be too difficult, no land too far away, no person too wounded for the love of the Heart of Jesus and for all those invited to be bearers of Christ’s love in the world” (St. Frances Xavier Cabrini) #PastoralVisit#SantAngeloLodigiano
We can experience joy in difficult circumstances only if our lives are rooted in a relationship with God as a loving Father. Only God's love can give us true and perfect joy. If we are deeply convinced that God cares for us as His beloved children, we will not be confused or discouraged, even in the midst of hardship. https://t.co/duKCEN0LpU

Most Rev. Daniel E. Garcia, Bishop of @AustinDiocese, reflects on Juneteenth, the day Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce the end of slavery more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
He addresses the painful legacy of slavery, often called America’s original sin, and the systemic racism that still casts its shadow today. He points to the opportunity Catholics have to recognize the inherent dignity of every person and to renew the commitment to racial justice, reconciliation, and peace.

History shows schemes of violence and oppression, of power and domination, of gains made without justice and without scruples. They backfire against those who suffer because of them and also against those who pursue them. Let us pray to Jesus, the Lord of peace, and let us appeal to people’s consciences so that they may be moved by indignation. May respect for humanity and a proper sense of civility be restored! https://t.co/YSu9K5XAS0

We are called to reread the Gospel in today’s world, exchanging the gifts of our respective cultures and the fruits that Christ's message has produced in them. One of these fruits is precisely the dialogue between peoples, the encounter in a spirit of fraternity, which enables us to discover and appreciate one another’s values. This path is not easy, but requires goodwill and God’s help. Yet, it is the path that leads to the civilization of love. #GeneralAudience
There has been distressing news about the war in #Ukraine, which keeps expanding. There are many innocent victims, rescue workers killed, and churches and cultural heritage sites devastated by flames. I am close to all those who mourn their loved ones, to the wounded, and to those who continue to serve life with courage amid violence. Let us #PrayTogether that this war may end. Let us ask the Lord to open paths of dialogue, extinguish hatred, and make a just and lasting #Peace possible.
I welcome with satisfaction the reaching of an agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, which will be signed on Friday, as an encouraging result of patient work in dialogue and negotiation. I express my gratitude to the countries that have worked to facilitate a meeting between the parties and to make this agreement possible. I hope that the agreement may help strengthen mutual trust, security, and stability in the Middle East, promoting paths of dialogue and cooperation among peoples. #Peace
I would like to appeal once again for reflection on the consequences of war and for their prevention through wise and responsible decision making, for this is not the result of an inevitable fate, but of free choices and, therefore, of morally accountable actions.
"If we want peace to exist, we have to do something to bring that about." Archbishop Gregory John Hartmayer shares a powerful reflection on the prayer of St. Francis. Watch now.

In his message for the 10th World Day of the Poor, Pope Leo XIV challenged Catholics to ask whether they go where the poor are, listen to their thoughts and share in their hopes.
"Are we a sign of a God who is a refuge for the poor?"
"The Lord has forsaken me; my Lord has forgotten me."
Pope Leo said many elderly people know this feeling all too well.
In his message for the World Day of Grandparents and the Elderly, he urged young people to ensure older adults know they are loved.📸(CNS file photo/Lola Gomez)
In this time, so harshly marked by the violence of war and social unrest, many people wonder what the world in which their grandchildren will grow up will be like. I urge you, dear #GrandparentsAndElderlyPeople, to join me in praying earnestly that peace may soon come to the whole world. https://t.co/D4RUdpXWB1
