I’m concerned by the news that Sheriff’s deputies were following him in a “slow pursuit” to do a “welfare check” at the time he pulled over and died by a self-inflicted gunshot wound. We need better people to call in this situation besides cops- like mental health workers/CIT.
Devastating. This man by the accounts I read was a good mayor who led his town through a terrible time. Blowing up his private life, in this environment, was a cruel decision.
