Happy World Environment Day 2026! 🌱🌍
Today, the Kilifi County Government joins the global community in commemorating World Environment Day 2026 under the theme: "Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future,"
This year's theme is a powerful call to action, reminding us that protecting our environment is not just an obligation but a responsibility to future generations. Let us embrace sustainable practices, conserve our natural resources, and take bold climate action to secure...
As we celebrate the 63rd Madaraka Day, we reflect on the progress we have made together in transforming lives across Kilifi County.
Over the past three years, we have:
• Upskilled over 1,000 young people through digital literacy programmes.
• Sponsored over 3,500 students..
We have also seen increased registration under SHA, a key step towards expanding access to affordable and quality healthcare. We encourage more residents to register so we can continue building a stronger and more sustainable health system for the people of Kilifi.
The @DOHKilifi has recorded steady growth in its own-source revenue over the last four financial years, from FY 2022/23 to FY 2025/26, with improved revenue collection and expenditure management strengthening healthcare service delivery across our facilities.
Were it not for the visionary leadership, commitment, and unwavering dedication of H.E. Governor @GideonMungaroM , Kilifi County would not have achieved the significant progress we are witnessing in the health sector today.
Strengthening Healthcare Services Across Kilifi County
Today, I joined our Health leadership team for a health sector performance review focused on improving service delivery for the people of Kilifi.
We have made major progress, including the opening of 8 new dispensaries…
Honoured to host H.E. President Dr. William Samoei Ruto again today in Mariakani. Through strong county–national government partnership, we continue delivering impactful development projects that improve lives across our constituencies. 🇰🇪
Sports development remains a key pillar in my development agenda and one of the promises I made to the people of Kilifi County.
Today, we visited the proposed site for the upcoming 10,000-seater Kilifi Stadium in Tezo. Following consultations with H.E. @WilliamsRuto ,
Asante Rais
The development tour of H.E President @WilliamsRuto is a testament of the shared desire for prosperity for our people and them finally enjoying the fruits of devolution and development in years.
Kilifi County is positioning itself at the forefront of innovation and technology-driven service delivery.
Through strategic engagements with The Good Drone Company (USA) and Thatcher Ventures Exchange Limited, we are exploring the introduction of drone-based public service delivery to improve access to essential services, particularly in remote and hard-to-reach communities across our county.
I was ably represented by H.E. Deputy Governor Flora Chibule during the high-level reception hosted by the American Embassy Nairobi.
This transformative initiative has the potential to strengthen healthcare delivery through transportation of blood, vaccines, medicines, and laboratory samples, while also supporting agriculture, emergency response, education, and disaster management services.
As a county, we remain committed to embracing innovation and partnerships that improve livelihoods, strengthen service delivery, and create sustainable development opportunities for the people of Kilifi.

In a major boost to eco-tourism and economic empowerment, WWF will support the establishment of an Eco-Tourism Centre at Mtakimau, complete with a restaurant and resource centre. The County Government will provide technical support and supervision to ensure successful implementation of the project.
