The Watch Dogs franchise is reportedly making a comeback with a “Watch Dogs Legion Director’s Cut” releasing in the first half of 2027 according to Insider Gaming.

Here are the rumored details:

- It will focus on well-known characters from the franchise

- Wrench and Aiden will be important to the story from its beginning now

I personally think its likely this is Mia lying a story remake of Legion, likely giving it just one set protagonist and a new narrative that feels consistent with a real arc, rather than the awful “play as anyone” pitch that the game originally led with.

Watch Dogs Legion had a ton of issues but its likely having one protagonist and a better narrative would vastly improve the game alone as the Aiden DLC was easily the best part of the game. I hope Watch Dogs one day makes a comeback, even if I think this is a strange approach and very late. It could work out.
