La selección de Ecuador vivió una jornada de traslado más larga de lo previsto en su llegada a México. El equipo tuvo un viaje de casi nueve horas y arribó al país a las 18:30 horas, cuando inicialmente estaba programado que aterrizara a las 17:00.

Los contratiempos no terminaron ahí. El recorrido del aeropuerto al hotel de concentración tomó cerca de dos horas, pese a que el itinerario contemplaba un trayecto de aproximadamente una hora. Este retraso generó sorpresa en el cuerpo técnico, ya que el entrenador manifestó no entender las razones por las que el traslado se extendió más de lo esperado.
