@HairlineSports @coreyrideout @EricCrossMLB Because it’s not 2 straight years. Made had a .915 OPS in A+ as a super young 18-year-old. He was sub .800 OPS in AA in 24 at bats… at age 18.

Willits is younger now, but not more advanced. He does not project for more power than Made. Not even close. Read a scouting report

@HairlineSports @coreyrideout @EricCrossMLB When I said most of Made’s value is derived from his bat, I meant he’s a bat forward prospect who happens to play in the dirt. His value is not derived from evaluators thinking he’ll be a plus defender. Being a SS/3B helps some, but it’s his bat that makes him the clear #1 guy.

@9catNinja Talent was never the issue for Ware. Spo has crazy expectations for players on both ends of the court. Ware couldn’t consistently meet them so he sat. Jenkins has high expectations too but MIL will be playing with a different purpose and thus the env will be more forgiving

Walcott is great, no doubt, and probably too slept on at this point even as a top 10-20 guy on most lists, but Made comes with less risk and basically all the upside. That’s why the gap exists

Of course this assumes the two are equal, which with Made and DePaula they are not

@EricCrossMLB DePaula is a great prospect, probably overrated for fantasy because he’s not actually an elite runner. But he’s not as great as Made who is putting up comparable numbers at a younger age. Made is much more advanced, has louder tools, and is a tier above by all legit rankings

Position matters a lot in fantasy. Defensive ability, so long as it doesn’t take you off a position, does not

But this has been a long-term build from day 1 and that effort is ongoing. The trade was not about 26-27, it is about the future.
